Description
1963 Ford Galaxie 500 2-door hardtop, with known history since new. Under 56,000 original miles, rust free with one repaint. Runs and drives great. I have spent $thousands refurbishing this car as follows: new aluminum radiator, heater core, Borgeson power steering unit, tilt column, wood steering wheel, front disk brakes, power brake booster, seat upholstery and front door panels, sill plates, sun visors, B&M shifter, trunk floor mat, u-joints, fuel line, brake lines, glove box liner, trunk weather stripping, generator, starter and Edelbrock 600 cfm carburetor. The 2" exhaust with Flowmaster mufflers is near new as are the American aluminum wheels and matching tires. The 390 cubic inch engine was checked out and refreshed by pulling the intake manifold and pan, and installing all new gaskets, plugs, plug wires etc., and the transmission was rebuilt. The engine starts easily, is very smooth and has lots of power. The gas tank was pulled, cleaned and painted with Eastwood's tank tone. All work has been professionally done.
The paint and trim are nice, but I consider them driver quality. The headliner is beautiful, but the carpet has some stains and could use replacement or colored floor mats. The trunk compartment is like new. The underside has not been detailed, but there is only light surface rust. There are a few tiny paint bubbles on the lip of the hood, but they were caused by inadequate paint prep, and not rust (they barely show). The original radio and clock do not work, and I have not tried to determine why. This is a car that is ready to drive and enjoy for years to come. Compare other 1963 Galaxies at much higher prices and lesser quality. PRICED TO SELL. Contact Bill at (971) 235-3804 with questions or to arrange to inspect and drive the car.
