What you see here for sale is a Very Original Paint Wimbleton White 99% Rust Free 1965 Ford Galaxie 2 Door Fastback - Rare Factory 240 Cubic Inch (3.9 litre) 6 Cylinder Motor, with C4 Automatic Transmission & 9" Diff
I brought this car in Mountain View Caifornia which is located in South Bay Area in California and it has a very Low Humidy Hot Dry Climate - the car has never left California - Built in Los Angeles and sold New in Los Angeles Area it still wears the original Black Number Plates !!!
It Runs and Drives fine - and even thru it is still registered in Californina it will need to be checked thru mechanically before hitting the road again.
It had been sitting in a garage in Mountain View for around 12 Years and the guy I brought it from was selling it for his sister who owned the car - he got it running and registered for her to sell it but it hasnt been driven regularly for 12 years - it was involved in an accident and was hit in the rear - its not really bad has damaged guard a little - but it has bent the chassis end by the bumper irons a little - easy repair - but has never been fixed - it was just parked up after it happened.
It has a the original 15" wheels (5 Stud) and tyres with the factory dogdish hubcaps !!!
Its still a projectcar but a bloody easy one
Just Imported from USA this is a Real Clean & Original Car
It Can be Registered in all States a Left hand Drive - I have the Import Approval Permit etc .
The Body is Real Clean and Straight s a whole - it has got a few minor dings & dents around the place as well as the rear 1/4 damage but all real easy to fix before painting but most important thing about this car is that it is vitually rust free there is a little just above the lower moulding between the roof and the l/h rear guard its tiny only a couple of mm as shown in photo but thats all I could find - it will also need a coat of paint to make it real nice again of course.
All the Glass is Nice - note the l/h door glass wasnt rolling up and I repaired the regulator - now its oversprung and rolls down way too fast - I had a few goes at sorting it out but it has me beat .
The Upolstery is all there - but really could do with an upolstery kit as seats are torn and needs carpets and hoodling - I ordered a replacment hoodlining from Dearborn Classics and that is sitting on the boot and comes with the car - You can buy upolstery seat covers and moulded carpets from many suppliers in US like Dearborns, Macs, Dennis Carpenters etc !!!
This will make a great car with some TLC for P Plater - or make great home for a thumping great big block 427 FE !!!
Its getting impossible to find almost Almost Rust Free 1965 Cars these days anywhere let alone real cool looking 6 Seater Galaxie Fastbacks that would fit 6 adults - great Sunday Car !!!!
The Last Photos shows how good this car would look with a paint job and some TLC!!
