What you see here for sale is a Very Rare Find an Original Paint Springtime Yellow 99% Rust Free 1966 Ford Galaxie 500 Fastback - Factory 390 4V Cubic Inch (6.4 litre) Big Block FE Motorwith C6 Automatic Transmission & 9" Diff, Power Steering, PowerBrakes, and Air Conditioning with only 72464 Miles on the Clock (Probably 172464)
Ibrought this car in Seligman Arizona which is in Central Arizona andhas a very Hot Dry Low Humidity Dessert Climate - I brought the car off a Man who brought it from original owners - He Lent the Car to one of his mates one night who had had a fight with his girlfriend and been kicked out of home and he got drunk and drove it off the road and damaged the Right Front Guard and got out and punched the Drivers Window Out - (I replaced it yesterday) - That Happened 12 Years ago - the car has been sitting since then - Theres Probably a Moral to that Story !!!
ThisCar was built in Los Angeles and sold New in Phoenix Arizona - and has been in Arizona all its life it still wearsthe original Number Plates!!!
I have got it running ok - but it is definitely a bit smokey - I pulled the brakes apart to do a brake job on it only to find someone had beaten me too it - it had a very recent Professional Brake Overhaul - including New Bendix Shoes, New Wheel Cylinders and New Brake Drums on all 4 Corners - all I had to do was some fine adjustments and give them a bleed - so its got great brakes and it drives forwards and backwards - thats good enough to get on a trailer or transporter and thats as far as I am going with it
The man I brought it off - did say the motor was getting a little tied when it was parked - so could imagine parking it for 12 Years hasnt improved it at all - so count on having to rebuild the Motor into your equasion - but its all there and runs so thats a bonus - it hasnt been registered or on the driven onpublic roads since 2002 and it will need to be checked thrumechanically including all Suspensions & Rubbers etc etc etc before hitting the road again.
The Front Bumper is not shown in the photos - but it does come with the car - it is in USA at the moment - when I picked up car - I was given the wrong bumper with the car - have since got the right bumper off previous owner and its in a car that will be coming to Australia in a few weeks - I will courier the bumper to new owner as soon as it arrives at my cost.
Please note there is a few spare parts that come with the car - everything seems to be there with the exception of a couple of Letter Badges on Rear Guards and the letter O on the Bootlid and also dont have the sill mouldings or the boot moulding - but the Bonnet Front Moulding and Wheel Arch Mouldings are in the Boot - note the Right Front Guard has been replaced with a real nice 1965 Guard - these are the same guard except the 65 has a moulding thru the middle of it.
Its still a projectcar but a bloody easy one
Just Imported from USA this is a Real Clean & Original Car
It Can be Registered in all States a Left hand Drive - I have the Import Approval Permit etc .
The Body is Real Nice Clean and Straight - it did have some dents around the place - I got my Panel Beater to Hammer & File up what he could - will still need a little filler in a few places to finish it off but didnt want to hide anything - and we did find a couple of spots with minor rust pin holes - we left it as we found it - its an original paint car - so you can see exactly what you are getting
All the Glass is Real Nice except for the Windscreen which will need replacing and windows all roll up and down etc .
The Upolstery is all Toast - being from the Dessert will need everything doing in the Interior - Ie Full Trim Kit, Carpets, Dash Pad, Hoodlining etc etc
Its getting impossible to find almost Almost Rust Free 1966 Cars thesedays anywhere let alone real cool looking 6 Seater Springtime YellowGalaxie with Factory Z Code 390 4V High Performance Motor that would fit 6 adults - this would make a great Great FamilySunday Car !!!!
