Today I had the pleasure of visiting an old friend and photographing his two antique Fords that he has asked me to sell for him. He is at a point in his life where he doesn't get to drive them as much as he used to so it's time for someone else to become the new care takers. Up for auction is a beautiful 1946 Ford Super Deluxe convertible, listed under a separate listing, and this car, a gorgeous and very rare 1930 Ford Model A Sedan Delivery. He was told only 1239 of this body was built in 1930.
He bought this car 18 years ago and completed a very authentic restoration in 2014. The car consists of all Henry Ford steel with the exception of the hood. All new wood was used during the restoration and attention to detail was carried throughout during assembly. Inside you will find a correct style LeBaron Bonny interior. The car is near perfect and shows well as if it was a fresh restoration. The car has been driven only 1700+ miles since its completion. This Model A is a show car and will win trophies every time it is shown.
The engine and transmission were completely rebuilt during the restoration and the only modifications were the addition of aluminum motor mounts, a gas shut off under the hood and a tail pipe; original 1930 Sedan Deliveries had only an exhaust pipe coming off the engine and a muffler.
Both his cars are good drivers, very reliable, and everything works as it should. I witnessed cold starts of both cars and they were perfect. A video of the car running is also available.
