1931 Ford Hot Rod Pickup
Body
‘31 Ford Model A 4-door Sedan chopped, channeled, and converted into a pickup truck
Suicide doors with bear claw latches
‘39 Packard grill chopped 6 inches and edges softened to resemble curves of the cab
Custom built truck bed to fit the curve of the cab
Hinges were added to create illusion of full functioning tailgate
Old Cedar fence slats and old steel trim strips were shortened and used in the bed
Fence slats were also used to create custom running boards
Custom ‘56 Chevy taillights
Paint
Custom mixed single-stage green.
Intentional chips, dings, and rub marks were added to give the fresh paint a distressed and weathered look.
Engine and Drivetrain
‘63 Buick 401 Nailhead (rebuilt with new cam, lifters, and timing set)
‘65 Buick ST400 with functioning switch pitch torque converter.
'50 Nash shifter with knob resembling a piston
'34 Ford Truck steering box
Custom headers with internal auger style baffles
Rear end out of the same donor Buick Riviera - approx. 3 to 1 gearing. Excellent on the freeway
Points and condenser replaced with Mallory electronic ignition
18 Gal. capacity painted aluminum marine fuel tank with internal gauge readable through fuel door in the truck bed
'34 Ford radiator with electric fan
Chassis
Frame custom built with 2x4 rectangular tubing (3/16” wall)
Double X-members to stiffen the frame
Frame cut and Z-ed in the front and rear
I-beam front axle out of a 56 Chevy truck, Model A leaf spring, and split wishbones
Rear-end hung with Jaguar coilovers and ladder bars
Steel wheels (half painted/half chrome) with baby moon caps
Interior
Brown leather upholstery and charcoal carpet
Old fence slats added to door panels along with aged copper trim pieces
Painted and distressed dash with Riviera emblem inset
‘39 Ford banjo steering wheel wrapped and hand-stitched with matching leather
Lighted dash cluster from a ‘50 Nash with functioning speedo
Smaller pods added below the dash for oil pressure and temp gauges
