Lookno further!Nothing says California cool like this 1927 Model T original steel roadster.Whylook like all fiberglass "bucket T's" when you can have a custom builtlow slung 60's style rod.She sounds as good as she looks too! Fast and reliable, this baby is just waiting for summer.This roadsterhas only had a fraction of the media attention it deserves.Having beenfeatured in the October 2012 issue of Hot Rod Magazine as well as issue#2 of Superfly Magazine, this roadster is sure to turn heads!
This baby is built to drive, and because of that there are of coursesome imperfections related to wear and tear but on the road is where it belongs! Issues, wellnot many.Motor leaks a small bit from the front of thenew oil pan after it has run.It could probably use a little RTV in thefront corners.The transmission- even though it has been rebuilt Istill see a drop or two after a cruise but that's it.It starts up nicely, shifts nicely and runs cool. Aesthetically there are minor chips and scratches along with a fewcracks in the paint.
Like I said, this roadster has been used andis meant to be used.This car features an original 1927 steel body which has gone throughquite a bit of metal work and now shows off a nice deep shine.The doors havebeen welded shut so you'll have to be able to step in this one.Keepin mind that this roadster has a small interior and may not becomfortable for someone above 6' and or 200+ lbs. The suspension is firmmeaning you will feel all the bumps in the road, it's not a bad thingbut I figure I would mention it for those not familiar with this type ofsetup.
Body-All Steel 1927 Ford 2-door roadster, all rustremoved and sheet metal replaced, hand fabricated sheet metal floor,hand fabricated windshield post and frame, light green tint glass, ModelA grill shell.
Frame- Mackey's Hot Rods, Inc. custom built frame, Powder coated Ivory White, Drilled lightening holes in rear cross-member.
Front Suspension- Powder coated gloss black, Model A axle(drilled), '34 Ford radius rods (drilled and sleeved), Speedways MotorsSpring behind axle, So Cal steering stabilizer,Stainless steel rod endsand tie-rods.
Rear suspension-1965 Mustang 8" Differential, Model A rearspring, Custom drilled spring mounts, Rear radius rods(drilled),Stainless Steel rod ends.
Brakes- 1956 Ford F-100 Bendix front brakes(drum)(drilledbacking plates), 1965 Ford Mustang rear brakes(drum), Mr. Roadsterpedal/master cylinder, steel braided front brake hoses.
Drivetrain- 1974 350ci 4 bolt main. Rebuilt TH400Transmission(July 2014) and a new torque converter with corvette shortshifter, new Edelbrock intake and 600 cfm carburetor, Mallorydistributor, New Dewitt aluminum radiator, finned corvette valve covers.Driveshaft by Drivelines, Inc.
Steering- Freshly rebuilt 1956 F-100 steering box(Aug. 2014), New metal flake steering wheel, so-cal speed shop chrome tie rod ends.
Interior-Aluminum "bomber style" seats, Seat cushions coveredin black cloth, black carpet, black powder-coated seat brackets, chromegas pedal, corvette shifter, oil pressure and water temp gauges.
Wheels/Tires- Front 15" Ford steel rims, 6.00-15 Coker whitewall tires, Rear 15" New steel rims, 8.00-15 Coker white wall tires.Rims are painted Ivory. Bullet lug nuts and chrome smoothie hub caps.
Misc Parts- Custom chrome plated lake style exhaust, aluminum "moon tank" 11 gal., King bee headlights, custom headlight mounts.
