Here we have in our possession another economical, practical, family estate vehicle in top of the range form, on offer is a 2004/54 Ford Mondeo 2.0 TDCI Ghia X Estate Manual. It comes with just 1 private owner after Ford Motor Co Ltd of Brentwood, this was the managing directors company vehicle for the 1st 8 months of the cars life before being sold to its most recent owner who has been in possession for the last 10 years 1 month. It has a full and exemplary service history consisting of 10 service stamps in the book right up to date, no expense spared here, the current mileage is just 110,000 and it will also come with a brand new 12 months MOT for the new keeper. When taking into account the spec you get along with the fact this is a diesel estate with a ready to use tow-bar it is superb value for money, the same year basic BMW 320d would set you back around 3k. Safe, practical, economical motoring ideal for a growing family, I have all documentation + spare keys here with me. This is a very genuine 1 previous owner vehicle, it is completely standard and original with no modifications. Cosmetically it is not "mint" as some would say but it isn't bad either, in my opinion I would say average condition all-round taking age and mileage into account. The paintwork is bright as a button and is an eye catching combination against the beige leather interior, the exterior is a very dark green but not sure what the colour is actually called. The car is very straight from all 4 corners and sits level, there is a few marks but nothing major. Inside is very clean and tidy, the full leather is in great condition along with everything else, there is no major wear at all. Mechanically it is in good working order and drives superb. Before the flywheel questions start to flood in by the 00's all I can say is the clutch is currently biting around halfway and operating perfectly, no noises, no vibrations, there is a full service history right up to date which suggests mechanically it has been looked after but I do not have a receipt for a clutch or dual mass. And no they don't just go around 80k like the so called experts say when they ring you, it all depends on how the car has been driven which in this case with the owner having the car 10 + years I would suggest in a reasonable manner and not thrashed. But hey this car is over 10 years old and over £25k when new, it is now peanuts for what you are actually getting so if you do want new then I have Fords number. Sorry to sound harsh just being honest. Also I have actually just done a clutch and dual mass on a saloon version, the kit was £200 and the labour £150 so job done £350 not £600 as the experts say when they want a discount. That was a full dual mass kit too not a single mass which can be purchased for £125. In general this is a genuine vehicle, service intervals at: 10,389 miles, 24,355 miles, 36,294 miles, 48,650 miles, 62,512 miles, 71,178 miles, 80,968 miles, 88,959 miles, 96,735 miles, 104,447 miles. Mechanically it has been fastidiously maintained from new regardless of cost with no expense spared. It was registered brand new on the 19/10/2004 and went straight to the managing director of Ford Motor Co Ltd of Brentwood. It was in his possession until the 24/08/2005 when it was sold on to a Mr Johnson who has been the owner ever since. Just over 10 years in his possession, quite rare to see these days. From experience you tend to find that when a vehicle has been kept in the same hands for such a length of time in most cases it will have been treated correctly. I have given this practical and economical estate a thorough test drive over the last few weeks and have travelled around 200 miles overall and I cannot fault this Ford Mondeo in any way, it starts, drives and stops as it should. It is extremely refined, comfortable and well balanced and performs exactly how you would want it to. This vehicle did a 60 mile trip up the motorway and was an absolute pleasure, it will overtake without issue and the power from the *2.0 TDCI* unit is there when needed. No issues at all. On start up the engine is quiet and sounds positive, it revs freely and is very eager to pull in every gear. The steering and handling are perfect, you turn the wheel and it instantly responds there is no sign of abuse or neglect here. The brakes are sharp and brought me to a swift stop and in a straight line and the manual gearbox is a dream, all gears are selected with ease and it is very smooth. The clutch is just halfway biting where you want it to and is functioning as it should. To be honest when behind the wheel the only way of telling this cars mileage is by looking at the odometer (110k), it feels tight as a drum and is a true testament to its previous owner of 10 years. Overall this is a very genuine example of the ever so popular Ford Mondeo TDCI that comes in *Estate Ghia X* form, it looks and drives fantastic, you will not be disappointed, I really cannot fault this vehicle but please take into consideration that it isn't new, there is some minor blemishes as expected and everything stated is my opinion which may differ from yours so a viewing is highly recommended.
