NO RESERVE: Sells to highest bidder
1965 Ford Mustang Coupe 6 Cyl 200 cid Automatic.
This mostly original pony needs restoration.
It was built in Detroit on February 25, 1965, The original panel stamps indicate February 20, 1965 on the 2nd Shift. It had been sitting since 1985 in storage until I bought it. The mustang has 80704.4 miles on the odometer. All factory tags remain with this mostly original Mustang, mostly meaning one repaint, and replacement parts. I have kept all original parts that had been updated or replaced, and do come with the car, all but the master cylinder. It comes with the original carburetor, yellow top coil, and two brake wheel cylinders with stampings. I have found one build sheet in the trunk location (see photo), and very well may be another complete build sheet in the car but I have not searched it out.
The exterior is a Hardtop Coupe (vinyl style look, not vinyl) in an Arcadian Blue color (Guardsmen Blue is the original color Code F on door tag) with Blue crinkle and vinyl interior. DSO Dealer Code is Detroit. The pictures tell the story of its storage. The floor pans and undercarriage were undercoated and are all original and have not been patched or replaced and are solid with exception of the driver foot area that has a small very rusted spot (not sure it broke through but seems easily repairable. There will need to be some repair to the frame rails, some cracking but I believe welding will remedy without replacement. The body shows signs of rust in the typical areas, but better than I have seen for this year Mustang that hasn't been restored or kept in a controlled environment its lifetime. It also comes with the original factory jack and wrench.
I am selling this, as I do all cars I come into in this condition, it deserve preservation. I had intentions of a rebody for my 1965 Fastback with this coupe, but have come to realize through feedback and my personal consideration, its in too good of a condition to not keep it in its originality.
Known Condition:
Very Solid Body, structure and panels are best I've seen
Runs but needs work (have video)
shifts and will driveway drive
Steers
Manual brakes work to include parking brake
lights work
wipers work
No heat, hoses were cut, may need heater core
Doors close (pass/need bushing, driver/adjustment),
Hood, Trunk open and close
High Beam Switch stuck
Engine leaks at sending unit and possible Oil Pan
Transmission Leak at pan
Cracked Manifold
Radiator maybe leaking
New:
Carb, brakes and lines, Master Cyl, Fuel Pump, Cap/rotor, Wires, Condenser, Spark Plugs, sending unit.
I have described the condition with the best of my knowledge.
