1964 ½ Ford Mustang
67,374 original miles.
Made the last week of April 1964 in Dearborn Michigan. Sold at the Ford dealership in San Jose. I actually have the original owners card too! It is somewhere around number 107,000 of the 3.5 million mustangs produced.
Purchased from Paul Rodriguez whose grandfather bought it in 1969 and he gave it to him in 1992. He was an avid car collector and kept this along with other vintage muscle cars in his barn that was converted to a car garage. It was really cool to see them all. The car has been garaged ever since.
The engine is a 289 V8 with a four speed Hurst shifter and has dual glass packs on the exhaust. It runs great and sounds amazing. The interior was updated in 1985 and he had it painted with a high quality paint job in 1989. Because it is always garaged and covered, people cannot believe the quality of the paint. He didn't spare any expense on it for sure.
It had to put a new starter in it in 1995 as well as a new generator, yes generator as these car didn't have alternators. Also put in a new fuel pump on it and replaced the fuel lines in 2010. Had new spark plugs and wires as well as a new battery.
Purchased by Deborah Wild in 2016. Further upgrades and work in 2017 included:
New brakes installed
Disc brake kit in front
15x6 500 mag wheels
New tires
New radiator
Rides very nice and does not overheat even on hot days on the freeway. Driven about once or twice a month.
