Description

Pictured for sale is a very original and nicely optioned 1966 Mustang Convertible project. This A-code convertible was originally finished in Candyapple red with a red interior which is one of the most desireable and popular Mustang convertible colors available from Ford. It is a nicely equipped Mustang as well with a 289 V8, automatic trans, power steering and factory a/c. It is totally complete with the drivetrain, interior and mechanicals intact. It will require extensive sheetmetal repair/replacement as most convertibles do. Keys are not available so no attempt to start the car was made. At some point the Mustang was damaged in front however it appears superficial in that the bumper and associated front end parts were damaged with nothing structural was affected. These damaged pieces would likely be replaced anyway during the course of a restoration. The A-code Vin number is clearly legible on the inner fender apron and matches a clear Illinois title. However, the matching door tag on the drivers side door is missing. Also included with the car is the original owner’s manual, with the original owner’s registration card inside and a documented history of repair receipts and a log book documenting maintenance and repairs over the years. Again, this car will require a complete restoration but considering the originality, completeness, options , and desireable red color combination it is a project worth the time and expense invested. The last photo shows the Mustang in restored condition. The Mustang will roll and steer easily for transport and is located in Manhattan, Illinois. Please ask if any questions arise.
