Description
This posting is for my 1968 Ford Mustang S code fastback. Originally equipped with a 390; 4 speed; 9”; power brakes; AC; power steering. Unfortunately when I purchased it, all was gone.
The motor is a 351W bored .40 over. It has a Edelbrock performer cam; Professional Products polished dual plane intake; polished water pump; chrome oil pan; Hedman shorty headers; fabricated valve covers; FiTech 600PA fuel injection; FiTech in-line fuel-pump; new factory fuel tank; throttle bracket; Extreme Velocity polished carb hat; Paxton Novi 1200 supercharger; March Performance pulleys; Jegs 100 amp 1-wire chrome alternator; MSD ready-to-run distributer; MSD spark plug wires; Ford Racing dipstick; K&N polished breather; chrome starter; Lakewood scattershield; 2.5” Hedman X-Pipe; 2.5” Flowmaster Super 40 mufflers.
The motor has approximately 500 miles on it and still has some bugs to work out. The injection is great, but I’m sure it could use some fine tuning.
The motor stays cool with an oversized polished BeCool radiator with dual electric fans.
The motor is backed by a Tremec 3550 5-speed transmission with a Steeda short throw Tri-Ax shifter; cable clutch. Planting the power to the ground is a Ford 9” rearend with 4.11 posi gears.
Stopping the car is a Wilwood dual reservoir; disc front, drum rear.
Suspension is equipped with front and rear RideTech Shockwave airbags; RideTech 4-Link; RideTech E3 compressor; fabricated bare metal RideTech trunk mount; polyurethane bushings; front and rear anti-sway bars; sub-frame connectors; Total Control Products export brace.
The paint on the car is a 7/8 with Mercedes gloss black paint; Hotrod satin black racing stripes; smoothed cowl; new quarter panels; new front fenders; new wheel wells; rhino lined trunk; rhino lined engine aprons; molded upper Shelby scoops; molded lower Eleanor scoops; fiberglass 2.5” cowl induction hood; Shelby hood-pins; chromed hood hinges with lightweight springs; stainless body bolt kit; fiberglass Shelby trunk lid; fiberglass Shelby taillight panel; racing front valance; all new stainless trim; chrome pop-top gas cover with Shelby insert; led sequential taillights; led headlights; new chrome door handles; new chrome bumpers; new chrome mirrors.
American Racing 17x7 Torq Thrust II front wheels; 17x9.5 rear wheels. BF Goodrich 245/45/17 front tires; 275/35/17 rear tires; black locking lug nuts.
Optima battery; polished fire extinguisher mounted in the trunk.
The interior is set off with Saddle factory bucket seats; Grant wood grain steering wheel; Dakota Digital VHX carbon fiber/red gauges; brand new stainless dash; Pioneer CD player; Pioneer kick-panel speakers; Lokar biller and leather shifter boot; Autometer 2 5/8 Sport Comp Boost gauge; Forever Sharp polished steering wheel adapter; billet turn signal indicator; Shelby dash emblem; Lokar gas, brake, clutch pedals; All American Billet door handles.
The car is 99.9% done. Only things left on my list is to undercoat the bottom of the car; update the wiring; match the window cranks to the billet handles.
I get compliments everywhere I go. It’ll make someone a great show car or weekend cruiser. Only considering selling to move onto a new project. Any questions, please let me know.
