Description

Long after Mustang Magic's Hot Rod Magazine debut in 1979, a more recent 4-page article waspublished in the Sep, 2017 issue ofMUSTANG MONTHLY Magazine (see attached pics of the article).

If you're as old as me you may remember this car from its original magazine glory days in the late 70s. This one-of-a-kind 65 MustangFastback wide-body was a feature build owned and published by editorBruce Caldwell in several magazines including 8 issues of Hot Rod fromDec 1978 to Jan 1980 with a cover shot on the Aug 1979 edition. Theentire build was then consolidated into a 28-page article in the #1edition of MUSTANG MAGAZINE in 1980. The car also graced the cover ofPetersen Publishing's Shop Series book titled "Engine Swapping".If youhave access to the very first issue of MUSTANG MAGAZINE, look it up. You'll beimpressed with the work put into this year-long project including a 289engine blue-printed at the Edelbrock factory in California. You'll alsosee this it not a kit car, it's 100% metal with the exception of theShelby-style fiberglass hood.

Although the numerous publications are great pieces of Magic's history, the real valuecomes from it's builderthe late great Eddie Paul. Eddie completed the metal fabrication alongside his Father leaving a special place in his heart for Magic. I believe this is the only reason he agreed to restore the car for me a little over 10 years ago. Eddie has anextensive legacy as an inventor, custom designer and Hollywoodstuntman/movie-car builder including builds for movies like "E.T.","Grease" and "Star Wars". Later he built the "xXx" GTOs as well as allthe cars in "The Fast and The Furious" and "2Fast 2Furious". He alsobrought Lightning McQueen, Mater and Sally Carrera to real life for PIXAR bycreating full-sized versions. As you can imagine, Eddie's works arehighly collectible and Mustang Magic is a rare piece of art. The 1949 Mercury "Hell's Chariot" he built for"Grease" sold at auction for more than $180K just a few years back.

Mustang Magic has been published in at least a dozen magazines and I will include them all with the purchase. I will also include a written appraisal Eddie fax'd me verifying the car's authenticity along with hundreds of priceless pictures he took while restoring the car. As a bonus, Eddie also signed the carbefore applying clear coat during the restoration. Needless to say, this is a great investment opportunity and your chance to own a unique car with a very rich provenance. Happy bidding. Any questions, ask away. Thanks!
