In 2004 there were only 1010 SVT Cobras produced with the Mystichrome paint. 505 were coupes; 495 were convertibles (3 of which were sent to Saleen). Ford worked with DuPont and BASF to develop this particular paint color utilizing the ChromaFlair pigments that allowed the color to change from blue to green to purple and even black in low light situations. Ford/SVT recalled one of their suppliers, Garden State Tanning, in New Jersey to incorporate the same color changing pigments into the leather seating and steering wheel (over a basic black dye). The Mystichrome paint package was a $3650 option and included chrome Cobra wheels. Additional information can be found from many sources online.
The heart of the Cobra is the 4.6L 32 valve 390HP/390lb/ft of torque V8 topped by an Eaton M-112 supercharger accompanied by a water to air intercooler. This awesome powerplant is mated to a Tremec T-56 6 speed transmission that sends the power to a final 3.55 axle ratio rear and features an independent rear suspension and Brembo brakes front and rear. The only non-stock item on the car is the upper and lower front grilles that have been replaced. No other modifications of any kind have been done to this fantastic Cobra.
Our SVT Cobra received a new state inspectionand required no service or maintenance to be performed. Included with the sale is a deluxe Marti Report (the gold standard of FoMoCo authentication) and cleanCarfax/AutoCheckreports that show no accidentsordamage and a thorough dealer service history. Carfax notes 18 service records! Vehiclecomes with two aftermarket keys/fobs, convertible boot cover, car cover and a copy of the Carfax/AutoCheck/Marti reports.
