'85 MUSTANG LX
5.0L FOXBODY CONVERTIBLE
MOSTLY ORIGINAL
VERY CLEAN
Here is a pretty cool find. These 3rd generation Mustangs have become quite popular and are affectionately known as the 'Fox Body' Mustang. For people who are now around the age of 50, this was the car to have back in high school, a lot of us wanted one but they were just a bit out of reach for the average person. Now, demand is growing and this will be a great opportunity to buy one without breaking the bank. Nice, clean, low mileage examples of these cars are selling in around the $25,000 range but this one is selling with a $99 opening bid and absolutely no reserve. The car is not perfect, it does have a few dings and dents but the nice thing is, aside from the JVC CD player, tires and battery, it is ALL original. The Auto check shows an accident of some sort back in 2000 and the hood has some damage as I have described and photographed below, I strongly feel that is related. This will be a really clean and fairly straight car to go and drive as is, perform a quick cosmetic 'freshen up' or perform a full restoration. The key is, it's ALL there, interior, trim, etc and it runs and drives quite well. Mileage shows 67358 and that is very believable however the history report tends to support the car having 167358. Please take the time to review the full description and nearly 100 photos including several of the undercarriage which prove the car is solid and has never been severely damaged.
The body of the car is actually very straight, doors, fenders and 1/4 panels look great. There is a soft push below the belt line on the right rear 1/4 just behind the passenger door and a handful of chips, scuffs and scrapes but no damage other than that. The hood has an unusual 'crease' across the middle of it and a ding towards the front. I can only assume that this was the result of the 'accident' reported on the Autocheck report as this is the only damage on the car and it does not appear the car has had any repaint. The paint on the car has the proper 'patina', it was slightly faded all over and I had it buffed out so it shows quite 'acceptable' but it definitely looks better in the photos than it will in person. If you demand perfection, plan on painting the car. Glass is nice and clear, the car still has it's original windshield which is serviceable but has a few small chips and shows some aging. Sides and rears are nice. The top is good, shows minimal aging, seams are intact and it holds out the elements just fine. Power top is in working order as well. Lights and lenses are intact and functional, trim is mostly there aside from the Ford 'oval' on the grille and trunklid, those are pretty much worn and will need to be replaced. Tires are excellent at all four corners, factory alloys are intact but show some aging and 3 of them have a little curb-check in them, all center caps are nice and are included.
The interior is quite decent for an LX trim level. While the car has absolutely no tobacco odors, there is a burn on the driver's seat bottom as well as the rear seat on the driver's side. The rest of it shows just minimal aging and is all intact. Carpets are decent, you can see a little fade on the 'hump' in the rear passenger compartment. As you can see, the map pockets have the typical sag but the door panels are actually in fair shape. Dash has no splits or cracks, it does look quite nice as does the console aside from the small split on the armrest. Everything inside the car appears to be in good working order including all power windows, audio system, gauges and illumination.
Mechanically the car is fairly sound. Two pumps of the gas and turn the key, it starts every time. Like any carburetor powered vehicle, it does need a quick warm-up but it does run exceptionally well. The transmission feels good and shifts at what appears to be the proper points including the kick-down gear when accelerating on the freeway. The thing it is going to need is an exhaust repair, there is a disconnect under the car somewhere between the manifold and the mufflers as you can hear it from more towards the front of the car. Also, there is some seepage from the oil pan. Not a gusher but will leave a few drops under it after a while. Other than that and maybe needing a tire rotation and balance, the car drives well. No smoking from the exhaust and no check engine lights on in the dash.
So, here you go, a very clean Fox Body convertible with no rust issues and in 99% original condition. This car is a paint job and an upholstery 'freshen-up' away from being a real show-piece, don't miss it! The car WILL sell to the highest bidder upon the completion of this 5 day NO RESERVE auction. I am happy to assist with transport, just call or message me for a quote. I am available during reasonable hours at (602)315-4055, please feel free to reach out with any questions. Now, I have just a few rules. PLEASE ensure you have the funds to complete your transaction. Also, PLEASE make sure you have the blessing of your wife, husband, boyfriend, girlfriend, mother, father, 'in-law', favorite pet or whomever you answer to BEFORE placing a bid. Your bid IS a legally binding contract that WILL hold up here in an Arizona court of law, sorry for the harsh language but these ads cost me time and money, please show me the same respect as I will towards you. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Now, GET YOUR BIDS IN and thank you for looking at my cool Mustang 5.0L Fox Body convertible!

Car sold AS-IS, 'where is'. No warranties or guarantees will be written, expressed or implied. All local Arizona residents are required to pay local sales tax of $9.3% and for your first year of registration. We do all of your title-work and transfers for you and as a licensed and bonded dealer we are responsible for the vehicle to pass emissions testing. We do not charge 'doc fees' for doing your paperwork, that is a clear ripoff and quite frankly the biggest fraud that dealers commit. How would you like it if the cashier at Home Depot charged you a $20 doc fee for printing you a receipt? Yeah, we wouldn't like it either so we aren't going to treat you that way. If you are a non-resident and wish to have a 90 day temporary permit, we can furnish that for you for $15.00 which is what the actual cost of the permit is. Thank you for your cooperation.
