Description
1965 Shelby GT350R Replica
I am pleased to offer one of my late fathers cars for sale. Here is the story behind this amazing automobile.
My late father had several Shelby automobiles starting in 1968 with a brand new GT 500KR convertible and after that he quickly became addicted to these cars. This car was modified approximately fifteen years ago to resemble a Shelby 5R34. The project was started with a 65 fastback titled as a San Jose K car and then he began acquiring parts from various vendors from Cobra restorers to Branda. Dad had owned cars restored by R. Delesio and K Vought and I know they helped with data. This car is by no means represented as anything other than what it is titled as. The pictures and videos speak volumes and I will help with additional questions and pictures in any way that I can.
The car was signed by Bob Bondurant and Carrol Shelby at V.I.R. when he was the grand marshall for their re-opening in 2001.
Some of the notes on this vehicle:
Narrowed Detroit locker rear w/ heavy duty rear drum brakes with functional cooling ductwork from side scoops.
32 gallon fuel tank with Lemans style filler in trunk, battery relocated to trunk.
S/W fuel pump in trunk, correct vent and breather hoses in trunk, SS racing trunk latch, No rear bumper, and rearaxle cable restraints.
Shortened and balanced drive shaft withloop restraint, 4 speed heavy duty Top loading transmission, racing clutch.
Tri Y exhaust Headers and straight 2 1/4" pipes exiting in front of the rear wheels.
Holley Racing 650cfm carburetor (no choke plate provision) He said it worked better than the r spec.
715 cfm center pivot, fenders trimmed and modified to R spec. R spec valve covers and racing intake funnel, R spec oil filter housing with bypass to cooler, no fan.
There is an aftermarket current fan mounted in front of radiator for street use, complete SS Brake Corporation kit, high capacity oil pan, oversize radiator.
Complete R spec interior featuring roll bar, Shelby dash with SW gauges, heater and radio delete, toggle switch for fan, momentary toggle for horn, Shelby lap belts, and Fomoco style fire extinguisher.
Too much more to list. Please email with any questions. thank you. Please follow the links below to a you tube video of the car running and imgur photos.
