The first Mustang was made on April 17, 1964, and to celebrate its 50th anniversary, Ford is releasing 1,964 Limited Edition Mustangs
Here's your chance to own a rare piece of history!
The 2015 Mustang GT 50th Anniversary Limited Edition comes standard with nearly every available dazzling option. The only choice customers have to make is either Wimbleton White or Kona Blue, and the manual or automatic transmission. After some research, I discovered many of the Limited Edition ponies will be snatched up internally by the Ford Motor Company brass and more down the chain by dealership personnel. There is also a military/European allotment of close to 300 that are being shipped overseas, close to two hundred designated to ship to Canada, and a handful to Mexico. Although production information is difficult to locate, I recall seeing that around 70% of theLimited Editions ordered are Wimbleton White. And customers that ordered the Kona Blue model preferred the standard transmission over the automatic.
To date I have driven the Pony twice. The 115 mile trip home from Key Scales Ford in Leesburg, Florida, and a single round trip from Clearwater to Tarpon Springs, Florida.So the mileage is around 159 at this time.

A few weeks ago, I received the unique Mustang 50 Years Limited Edition "Owners Kit, individualized for your specific vehicle." Found inside the box is the "Mustang 50 Years" bookby Donald Farr (wrapped in a commemorative anniversary dust jacket), and a leather bound Owners Manual that sports the 50 Years metal badge. Not long after we purchased the automobile, I found my position at work was becoming part-time. This change in finances, at my age, (64 now) has ruined plans to enjoy the years ahead in my Mustang. So reluctantly, my wife and I have decided its best to part with our Pony.
