Description
LUXURY MOTORSPORT GROUP INC. is excited to offer a freshly completed 1965 GT350 Mustang Fastback. We call it the famous Eleanor's Kid sister!!
Withover 3 years of labor in the build this is one of the finest recreationsof a 1965 Ford Mustang you will ever lay eyes on. The previous owner, a real Mustang car buff, started with a 1965 Ford Mustang 2+2 - a rust free, USA car originally delivered with a 289 block and still with her original USA black licence plate. She was then completely taken apart and stripped down to bare metal toensure a perfect finished product. The body was meticulously blockedand sanded while the show quality DuPont Pepper Grey paint was appliedin multiple stages with a healthy dose of clear.
Everygap lines up better than the factory ever could manage, and custom bodywork eliminates the gaps around the front grill and rear tail lights.Rounding out the custom body touches are a fabricated radiator top shroud, and a rear gas cap. There are no ripples, orange peel or flaws in the perfectly matchingpaint. In addition, every jam, lid, and well has been meticulouslyrefinished and painted as well. All new glass and trim was installedincluding the vent window frames.
Theinterior has also been completely refinished using tasteful Shelbyparts but the original speedometer was left untouched with addition of Instrument gauges, Shelby signatureleather seats, a Shelby GT350 wood grain steering wheel, and of coursethe signature "Go Baby Go" shift knob. The glove box has also beensigned and documented by the late Carroll Shelby himself. All the rest ofthe interior panels were refinished or replaced and the carpet andheadliner are brand new as well.
Underthe hood lives a healthy newly build 351 Windsor with a highperformance cam, Shelby valve covers and air cleaner, all cooled by acustom new radiator. The engine block has been tastefullypainted to match the exterior of the car while complementedby satin black engine bay and accents. Getting the power to the wheelsis a Tremec T55 5-speed transmission and a 9" rear end. Underneath, all of the control arms and bushings have been replaced, while theaddition of sub frame connectors and sway bars strengthen up the chassisand noticeably improve handling. Helping her come to a quick stop ifnecessary are custom 4 piston brakes at all four corners as well as a master cylinder on the firewall. Wrapping the brakes are a setof quintessential 17 Inch American Racing Shelby wheels with knock offs.
This car is in immaculate condition. The Body is straight as an arrow. All doors, trunk, hood are all aligned like they should. During restoration car was taken apart sand blasted and properly painted. Stripes are not decals. They were professionally painted. All the chrome is in top shape. This car is a true joy to drive and will turn heads at every corner.
