Description
Last registered in 1983. San
Francisco Bay Area car from new as far as I can tell. San Jose-built 289 A code factory 4 speed. Engine will not turn over by hand, brakes inoperative,
etc due to long term storage. The elderly gentleman who previously owned the car wanted it as a parts car but then decided to buy all new parts for his 1967 Mustang.
The car repainted blue from original white by a previous owner. Clean and orginal quarter panels, no accident damage as far as I can see. The hood is not attached it is missing brackets, had orginally planned to get a new hood. I did not remove the carpets for inspection, but there is probably some rust in the floor beneath them in some places. There is light to moderate surface rust on the underside of the floors and chassis. The floors, seams, etc. underneath, in the trunk, under the hood, door jambs, wheel wells, etc. actually look quite good and do not appear to have any heavily rusted or rusted-through areas. car, I have only found one rusted-through area just above the passenger side quarter panel, but there may be some that I have not found. The front seats will need to be reupholstered, but the back seats are in great condition. This Mustang is a very good candidate for a straight-forward no scary stuff restoration. The Mustang parts aftermarket can supply anything needed or desired. Used parts are readily available and very reasonably priced. These early Mustangs are simple and fun. The trunk and inside of the car are loaded with spare parts. The original pistons, and heads are now covered with surface rust and need to be cleaned up. The front bumper is in pieces. Windshield is cracked but side windows are all good. Some chrome is pretty good, some, not good. Car is very much intact. The car has a clear California title in my name. I bought this Mustang to restore and drive with my father who is no longer with me, but realized after 10 years of having it that I can not restore this car with out him because of the memories in it. The odometer is not in the car and the engine is not together so I do not know the mileage. Buyer or buyer's representative is encouraged to inspect the car prior to bidding. Located 10 miles outside of Sonora, California. If more photos or information are needed, please contact me. The reserve is reasonable, I believe, but will not be revealed until it is reached.
