When it comes to American cars I’m pretty selective and in case you haven’t noticed. I’m kind of a Ford guy so it brings me great pleasure to offer this very special collector grade Mustang.
The Cobra R came to be when SVT teamed up with Jack Roush to build a competition car with very limited production. Based off the Terminator Cobra body this Mustang received very special components as listed in the “R” package. The Tremec T56 6 speed was fitted with close ration gears, a high performance side exit exhaust was installed, 18x9.5 squared aluminium wheels with BF Goodrich tires, Brembo high performance braking system, HD monotube shocks, lower and stiffer springs, HD aluminium radiator, HD power steering cooler, 21 Gallon fuel cel, hi-capacity fuel pump, Recaro Seats and lastly delete of the following items; AC, cruise control, rear seats and sound deadners.
The package was then complimented with the mighty Tritan dual overhead cam V8 producing a very healthy 385hp giving this Cobra serious performance. 0-60 in under 5 sec, quarter mile in 13.2 and a top speed over 170mph. With all the hardware in place SVT then looked to the aero balance of this track monster with the additions of a front spoiler installed with Zeus fasteners for quick removal and a rear adjustable wing. With SVT trying to maintain the exclusivity of this high performance Track version of the Mustang, then SVT director John Coletti agreed to the super limited run of just 300 cars produced for the world. The car we have here is a collector grade example with a distance of just 380 miles from new. It was in new car inventory as part of the owners collection at Langford Ford in Labelle Florida. There the car received light service during its storage and preservation. The car was then bought by one of our customers and brought up into Ontario where it received a major service from Markville Ford and he enjoyed a short term ownership putting about 65 miles on the car. Of course when we heard about it we had to have it.
This is the perfect car for any collector of fine super rare vehicles. This car won’t last long!
