Description

I have owned this little coupe for 12 years. I bought it from my neighbor that restored it from the ground up. It was a labor of love that took him 7 years to complete. The car is completely Henry Ford steel except for the metal floor pan. . There are no fiberglass parts on it. There are no patch panels on the body. The rear fenders are original to the car and metal patching was used. Original rear coupe fenders are very hard to come by. The mileage that you see in the pictures are the actual miles the car has been driven since it was restored. The NOS speedometer read "0" when it was installed. The paint color is Washington Blue with Tacoma Cream stripe and wheels. This is a color combination that was available on 32 Fords from the factory. The interior is gray mohair from "LeBARON BONNEY CO." Many parts that were used in the restoration were NOS. The front fenders were NOS as well as the rad, speedometer, gas gauge. Head lights are the originals and untouched. Many of the harder to find parts are reproduction. The bumpers, luggage rack, mirrors, sun visors, coach lights, rad cap are reproduction. The fellow that restored this car did take some liberties. It has hydraulic shocks. tinted windows, interior courtesy lights, signal lights, chrome front window trim. These cars also had a single spare on the back not dual side mounted spares. The wheels are from a 1935 Ford which allow for larger profile tire, larger whitewall and softer ride. The 6 volt alternator was specially built and keeps the lights bright even at idle. The brakes are the original mechanical brakes. The rear window functions as it should and rolls up and down by turning the crank on the inside. This car has no VIN stamped into the frame anywhere. I have read that a few got through the assembly line without being stamped. If anyone has another explanation as to why it does not have a VIN I would be happy to hear it. There is no sign of a VIN being ground off. We have been able to register it here using the engine serial number for the past 24 years. You should check your local DMV if they would allow this if you plan to register it. The restoration was completed in 1992 and the car has been on an open trailer to a few shows in the area before I bought it so there are a few chips that have been touched up. Since 1992 the car has always been stored indoors. I have the correct 2 piece engine crank to include. I also have a number of manuals and "The Early Ford V8 AS HENRY FORD BUILT IT" book to include. If you wish to fly in and see the see the car I would encourage this and would be more than happy to pick you up at the airport. I will also work with you to arrange shipping anywhere in the world and make the transaction as smooth as possible. There is no need to pick the car up immediately as it is safely stored and as long as it is paid for within 72 hours of auction end it can stay where it is until you are ready to pick it up or have it shipped. If you have no/poor feed back please contact me before bidding. Please ask questions or request additional photos early in the auction. The car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.
