Description
Custom vans were one of the hottest trends of the late 1970s, up there with disco music and bell-bottom polyester pants. Buying a van was an expensive proposition, though, even before one factored in the cost of adding airbrushed graphics, the obligatory porthole windows and a finished interior. Fortunately for those on a budget, Ford got the brilliant idea of blending the van craze with its popular Pinto station wagon, and in 1977 the Pinto Cruising Wagon was born. It came from the factory wearing bright vinyl graphics, sport-styled steel wheels, sport mirrors and (most importantly) porthole windows in the rear of the cargo area. Finding a surviving example in decent shape is a challenge these days, which is what makes this 1979 Ford Pinto Cruising Wagon for sale so appealing. This cruiser wagon is perfect for a project hotrod, restoation, or just drive it as it is. The car seems dependable to cruise around as is but would make a sweet little hotrod.
