Description
1971 FORD RANCHERO 500
The Fifth Generation Ranchero coupe utility vehicle (1970-1971) had a complete restyle. Both the Torino and the Ranchero featured a shallow pointed grill influenced by coke bottle styling. This in itself I feel make the car one of the best looking Rancheros produced. With its base stock 250 c.i. in-line six with 232 lb. ft. torque @ 1600 rpm,
it's the same motor used on the Ford Mustang & Torino and the Mercury Montego.
With a weight of only 3285 pounds, it was a nimble runner at the time.
This vehicle was done right from the beginning: equipped with automatic trans., p/s, p/b, factory heavy duty transmisson & oil cooler, with an add-on electric fan. The motor is quiet and transmission shifts smooth.
On the highway I get over 20 mpg. For comfort there is a/c and a JVC receiver.
The paint is about 10 years old and still shines well. No runs or orange peel though over the years it has a few minor scratches here and there. The chrome shows well. Only chrome that is pitted is the curved pieces (on each side) of the rear window. Also, there is a wiper scratch on the windshield on the passenger side. I added seat covers over the original seats, friends tell me I should leave them off. I put them on as the seat on drivers side is torn on the very top (horizontal surface shown). The bed has no dents and the rear wheel wells are very good with no dents also. That shows no abuse. The dash has an aftermarket dash pad which looks good.
Most recent work done is new starter with lifetime warranty, fuel pump & filter 3/19, otherwise regular scheduled maintenance over the years. Also oil changed with Penzoil Platinum Full Synthetic Oil 10W30. The wheels make the car have a nice stance. They are 225x40x18 front & 255x35x20 rears on Ridler Wheels.
If you need more information or set up an appointment to see the Ranchero, I can be reached at 931-529-0212 . Remember, she is 48 years old, therefore sold As-Is. Non-Refundable PayPal Deposit required within 24 hours of winning bid. Winning bidder to pay FULL Bid price, no changes afterwards.
