Built for only nine months, all 1968 Shelby Mustangs were produced at Ford's Metuchen assembly plant and shipped as running knockdown units to A.O. Smith in Ionia, Michigan. And this fully documented, registry listed pony, sold through Koons Ford of Falls Church, Virginia, presents an incredible opportunity to own a real thoroughbred. The car's athletic bodywork looks solid and crisp, showcasing traditional Shelby fiberglass that's both timeless and enduring. That profile is sealed in a searing coat of correct Sunlit Gold Metallic two-stage, which is finished to a level that makes old school factory fodder envious. And clean Shelby stripes perfectly complement storied GT500 call-outs. Lift the hood and you'll find 428 cubic inches of legendary Cobra Jet V8 that's been completely rebuilt from its big Holley 4-barrel all the way down to its correct C6ME-A casting number.
