Description
Today I had the pleasure of visiting an old friend and photographing his two antique Fords that he has asked me to sell for him. He is at a point in his life where he doesn't get to drive them as much as he used to so it's time for someone else to become the new care takers. Up for auction is a gorgeous and very rare 1930 Ford Model A Sedan Delivery, listed under a separate listing, and this car, a beautiful 1946 Ford Super Deluxe convertible.
He bought this car 30+ years ago and completed the restoration in 1996. When you look at this car you would think it was restored only 5 or so years ago!! The car consists of all Henry Ford steel and is finished in Pheasant Red with a Brown LeBaron Bonny leather interior. The car is near perfect with no rust to be found anywhere and only one small chip on the front fender where the hood meets it, very easy to brush touch up as he has extra paint. This is a show car that still wins trophies!
The car has been driven approximately 10,000 miles since its completion and the only thing showing wear is the convertible top but there are no rips or tears, you can just see that it is starting to show its age. The windows lineup good with the top but it is a little difficult to roll up the quarter windows when the top is in the full up and locked position. Loosen the front latches, roll up the quarter windows, latch the top and you are ready to go. The tires are also aging but only show minor cracking in the white walls.
The engine and transmission were completely rebuilt during the restoration and to improve reliability he added Electronic ignition, headers, dual exhaust, Smitty mufflers and a 6 Volt genex alternator. The original power top pump is still under the hood and was functioning but he added a new electric pump under the back seat and new top cylinders about two years ago which makes the top go up and down much quicker.
Both his cars are good drivers, very reliable, and everything works as it should including the radio and the clock. I witnessed cold starts of both cars and they were perfect. A video of the car running is also available.
eBay only allows 24 pictures but I have several others available. Any questions ask away.
You can come in person to inspect the car or send a representative. Call Phil at 315-796-1200 if desired. We will assist with you shipper if necessary.
Please only bid if you are serious about buying. $500 non-refundable deposit due within 48 hours, balance due in 10 days. Thanks!!
