Description

As you may be aware, it was necessary to relist this item as the first effort failed to reflect a reserve and could not be remediedby eBay (crazy)------------In any event, there were 20+ bidders with bidding at the $20k level so that's where this re-list will begin.
I regret the nuisance value of this re-list and tedious information.
Hopefully it will work correctly this time.
Submitted for your consideration is this Senior owned '55 Ford Thunderbird Convertible with both tops located in dry Lewisburg, TN.
Owner bought this restored vehicle several years ago. As I understand it the previous owner had it at Amos Minter in Dallas, TX which is fairly well known in T-bird circles.
This vehicle and accessory hardtop were repainted its original Torch Red in 2-stage base/clear paint.
For reasons I'm unfamiliar, the front hood latch "stuck" and the owner's mechanic accidentally chipped the paint at leading edge of hood in his efforts to open it.
OPTIONS: Power Steering, Brakes, Windows and Seats.
MECHANICAL: 292 V8 starts right up and idles fine. No unusual sounds, odors, etc.
Hood latch is "open" in these photos due to the sticking latch issue but otherwise closes just fine.
Interior is in very good condition overall and does not have any heel-pad wear in carpet or bolster wear on seats. Tires are new Coker tires and are in great shape. Kelsey Hayes-type wire wheels are in great shape and show no signs of curb scrape etc. A set of sunburst wheelcovers included in the trunk.
Car Cover is included. A fullsize spare with like-new tire is intact.
New Fuel Tank
EXTERIOR: Torch red paint is correct for this vintage and done very nicely.
Door fitment for both doors is fine. All Chrome Brightwork is intact and looks great.
Windshield has a "wiper mark" on the left side. It's subtle and should polish out, but wanted to disclose as much.
No glaring stone chips etc.
Hardtop looks great. Headliner in hardtop is either new or exceptionally well-cared for. Soft Top is white in color and also looks new.
Car has an excellent presentation. No evidence of rust or collision anywhere on this vehicle.
INTERIOR: Interior is 2-tone red/white and in very good condition. Carpet looks new. Floor mats are correct for this vintage. Door Cards look good. Power Windows and Seats work as expected. Steering wheel is beautiful and no cracks. Headliner is exceptional on hardtop (new?).
Owner looking to downsize and this is the only reason for the sale.
Vehicle has been driven increasingly less in the last year due to owner's age/health.
Buyer will be asked to sign a Buyer's Agreement with the customary "As-is/where-is" language etc.
Additional photos available upon request.
Test-drive is available with advance notice.
This is a truly excellent car offering the buyer plenty of upside for investment and classic car enjoyment.
