Description
This auction will be for a 1960 Ford Thunderbird. This Thunderbird is afactory Gray car with Red Leather interior. It came factory with the 352engine and automatic transmission. It has power steering, power brakes, power windows and a full floor console. The engine and transmission are in unknown condition. I tried to turn itover but it is stuck. It looks all complete and may just be frozen fromsitting. The oil is good in the engine and in the transmission. All themechanical parts are all there and from what I can tell nothing ismissing. The wheels all roll and nothing is frozen or stuck there. The Red Leather interior is in really remarkable condition. The rearseat looks like it was never sat in and is very clean and useable in atop notch car just the way it is. The front seats do have some leatherfading, but are not ripped or torn. A good cleaning and dye job and Ithink they will be good to go. The drivers seat is power and does work. The console is really nice and complete. The front and rear door panelsare good driver panels with no cut holes. Some light water damage on thebottoms maybe, but still very presentable just the way they are. Thedash and gauges are all there and everything looks clean. The dash padhas peeled away but the glovebox and steering column and steering wheelare all good items to use on a driver or easy detail and restore. The body is what you would expect from a car that has sat around since1987. There is rust on the rockers, floors and frame area. ThisThunderbird is probably better used as a parts car then a restorationproject. However, I have seen worse and have fixed worse myself. I guessits up to the new buyer. I will say the front bumper is very straightand nice piece for a driver. The chrome is a little faded, but it is astraight bumper that I would imagine would be worth a lot of money tosomeone who just needed it. The hood is rusted and not good. The trunklid is in excellent shape, the taillights are in excellent shape andthere are a lot of good trim pieces, lens and such that could be used. The miles are correct at 61,196 as I have plenty of paperwork, (2)titles from two different states, lots of registrations and paperworkthat leads back to the 1970's. I also found the build sheet under therear seat.Overall I think this 1960 Thunderbird is an excellent parts car forsomeone restoring one of these. This Thunderbird has a really gooduseable Red Leather interior and all the original screws, knobs etc. Thewindshield and drivers door glass are broken but all the other glass isin good shape. Lots of good parts here, but I do not want to part itout at this time. I want to try to sell it whole first.
