My immaculate 1966 Ford Thunderbird is up for sale.
I have moved from Victoria to FNQ and have no room in Port Douglas for my car.
Restored in Bend Oregon USA, where it was purchased new by the local skating rink owner in 1966, the owner gave it to his son to keep and restore, but the GFC forced him to sell the car to a retired Engineer and car nut who loves fords and restored this one fully.
Redbird (the cars name) has never been in an accident and was bare metal painted in Candy apple red with a touch of pink, it is perfect, show quality finish. The engine , a 390 CI has been fully reconditioned with a 1⁄4 cam to give it a great exhaust note, new Offenhauser intake manifold, new 4 barrel carby, new fuel pump, reconditioned auto, new carpet, new seats to front and new boot lining, it has power assisted disc brakes on front (new for 1966). Redbird drives beautifully on the road, shifts beautifully (3 speed) brakes perfectly -no pulling left or right, the car is located in Mount Martha Vic.
Before moving to FNQ, I had a full detailed ($1000) service, changing all filters, tune up including the transmission etc, I have the contact details for the person in US who did all the work, Redbird comes with import papers and is on Club registration until December.
