Description

Where do I start? I'm almost 60 years old, this is the car I've been wanting for more years than I can remember and finally I found this baby on ebay.com, the car was in New Jersey so I specifically asked the seller if the car had any rust, I was told that apart from a little rust in the bottom of the quarter panels and the drivers door it was a solid car. I thought I could live with that, patch panels are readily available and those particular ones are probably the easiest to fit so I bought the car. When it arrived I was in shock for hours, it needs rust removed in the floor, the quarters, the front guards, the boot, it's extensive and definitely beyond my ability or budget. I absolutely love the car regardless, these old beasts ooze character and this one is a gem regardless of the rust.
This model is known as the Town Hardtop, it's one model down from the Town Landau but the only difference really is that it doesn't have a vinyl roof. The car has Power steering, power windows including front quarter windows, power seats, disc brakes front end, 390 V8, air conditioning original radio, overhead console, great interior and a nice straight body. As you can see from the pictures there are a couple of things missing from the body, wipers, skirts and a couple of chrome trims, they are in the boot.
These cars are no longer easy to find, actually that's wrong, you can find plenty of them, you just can't afford to buy them! depending on the quality of the car they sell for anything from 10 to 50k and that's not an exaggeration by any means.
If I was much younger I would work on this baby night and day, it's a perfect project car but it needs to go to someone who has the skills to do the work himself. The car is complete and it's well featured. Any part you could possibly need is available and I can even hook you up with an importer who can save you money by putting larger parts in one of the many containers he brings to Australia monthly.
After careful consideration I decided the car was too much work for me and I could afford to pay what was needed to fix it so it has to go, I'll then sell my regular car, my wifes car and my wife and buy myself a 66 bird that's ready to drive.
All I'm asking for this car is basically what I paid, if I can't get that I've been offered a swap for a convertible Benze so I'll take that.
Anyone wanting to know more about the car is welcome to ring me on 0435126249, I am happy to send more pictures on request.
Thank you for looking at my listing!
Richard
