Description
I have owned this car for 6 years and have completed all the mechanical work I had on my list. I just don't have the time to complete this project. This car is ready to go now I will be selling this car. This is not a market test This car will sell and first to see will buy.
This is a good honest car and an excellent project because of its condition.
Body: This was an inland SA car so it is in good shape by comparison to other coupes you see. Body is straight and complete. It has some body repair work to complete in usual areas but overall is very sound. Originally Mulberry (paint Code M) it has been resprayed to a royal blue colour. Whilst there are a few body work jobs to complete before paint, this car is in surprisingly good condition. Underneath it is all in good shape. The worst of the body work is around the rear end. The boot lip / surround and fuel tank support will need repair, looks like a leaky boot lid seal may be responsible for that. The rear window sill has been done previously but will need attention again. rear wheel arches need some work as do the sills on both sides. Floor pan is in good cond. Boot lid and bonnet will both need some attention also as the previous owner played with those and has not done a particularly good job. The bonnet has been modified to provide space for the air scoop however with the spacer block removed it all comes back to standard height under bonnet.
Interior: All original cream and blue inlay seats in average condition for age. Trim code is P - Parchment. All intact and complete but looks tired and will need refurbish. Dash is in average condition for age and is complete, the dash pad is slightly cracked and the tacho has failed. I have the original console but it is not fitted yet. Doors and winders etc all work well. It will need a rubber kit installed and some final bits and pieces of trim.
Mechanically It has been re-bushed, resprung and is virtually all new underneath. New front end. New HD suspension all round and sits very low. New brake lines, oversized slotted front brakes. New 9 inch diff LSD built to GT spec (3.55 final drive) and rear drums, strengthened C6 auto with 3,000 RPM stall, B & M Ratchet shifter. Fully rebuilt 351 Clevo (not matching numbers. This engine from a 74 Fairmont sedan) 10 Thou oversize with dome top pistons built for good HP with Yella Terra roller rockers, double valve springs and Crowe mega torque hydraulic cam. It has a weiand x-cellerator medium rise single plane inlet manifold and runs a Holley 750 DP with mechanical secondary. I also run a 2 inch spacer block. Closed chamber 2v heads machined and ported. It runs a Bosch elec ignition and holly high volume fuel pump. High volume sump pan and oil pump also. Motarvator extractors into 3 inch collectors and a full 2 and a half inch exhaust with balancer. Triple core radiator and 2 inch gilmer drive.
This is a sweet Clevo that produces some good HP. Good compression, roller top end and breathes well produces a nice sharp rev and with 3.55 final drive it boogies. It needs a good run and a tune up as it only gets a short run down the drive at my place.
