Description
Time has come to sell my much beloved 1964 XM Ford Falcon Delux sedan. I had it up for sale about 12 months ago however the buyer didn't complete the sale so after being messed around I decided to keep the car and continue to enjoy it. However I'm hoping this time around the buyer is serious.
The car was purchased some time ago in Victoria in it's current paint however the 170ci and 2 speed auto was very tired and needed to be upgraded. I had thoughts of rebuilding both of these but thought it was the right time to put a bigger heart and soul into it. The 170 and 2 speed was removed and replaced with a 221ci and 3 speed Borg Warner from an XW. Both of these were completely rebuilt and enhanced before I installed them into the XM. The install required purpose built engine mounts, linkages, transmission tunnel (built and welded in not bashed with a hammer the way some others do it.), fan shroud, 3 speed column shift and other minor little pieces to make sure the job was done right. The engine has only seen approx 5000 kms since being installed.
I am extremely fussy and ensure the work is done to last. There are some very minor rust spots appearing in the following places:
Drivers door (lower corner)
Rear drivers side door (lower corner)
drivers side rear wheel arch
Passenger side rear door (lower corner)
These are the only rust areas that I haven't fixed. They are the typical rust bubbles and are an easy fix for those who are handy with the welder, dolly and hammer.
When prepping the car for the 221ci and 3 speed BW I not only rebuilt the transmission tunnel but also cut out all rust in the floor and welded in hand fabricated panels, repaired rust in the beaver panel (behind the rear bumper), removed the fuel tank and repaired any rust in the floor of the boot and drained and clean the fuel tank before re-installing it.
The front apron was very lightly modified to permit the use of a brand new 3 core 1965 mustang radiator to keep the original look inside the engine bay as I wanted to keep with the era of that generation.
The interior has taken on a very neat look with a subtle ratty edge in the form of the 3 speed fairmont/futura steering column being removed of all it's paint then clear coated. The levers have also had the same treatment and no new knobs have been replaced. An aftermarket retro stereo with hidden arial has been installed which permits AM/FM and the use of your phone or MP3 style player to be linked in through the glove box.
The car has been lowered approx 2" all round by 'Allsprings' in Sydney by resetting the rear and front springs to give the car an even stance.
1964 era Lapsash seatbelts/buckles have been placed in the front seat with a lap belt in the middle to allow the car being registered as a 6 seater.
The following lists everything done to the car:
rebuilt 221ci .30" oversize with mild cam
rebuilt 250 2V head
XY extractors modified to fit in the engine bay
Brand new 350 Holley with aftermarket aircleaner. (modified original aircleaner to fit 350 Holley also comes with the car to keep the original look)
3 core 65 Mustang Radiator with purpose built fibreglass fan shroud.
New water pump
Electronic ignition (new electronic distributor with correct coil to suit)
heater inside car
Custom built throttle linkages and transmission linkages
Rebuilt 3 speed BW auto gearbox
14" XP wheels powder coated red with new whitewall tyres and chrome hubcaps
New master cylinder
All suspension rubbers front and rear have been replaced along with ball joints etc.
Vehicle lowered approx 2" all round as described above

I'm sure I have missed a few things but the car speaks for itself.
I have put alot of work into this car however it is not show room condition and still requires some work if that's what you're looking for. Saying this though, the car is a get in a drive away without having to do anything to it. It gets countless looks and many people give great comments about it. I've driven it to Goulburn and Canberra a number of times without any issues at all. It cruises beautifully, which is what it was built for and has a lot of low down torque to get it climbing hills by barely a touch of the throttle.
The car can be viewed by appointment and please only do so if you are serious. I am not in hurry to sell my car and will not let it go for ridiculous offers so please don't make them. The car was recently used in a wedding. This is a genuine sale for a genuine buyer.
Vehicle can be viewed in Penrith NSW by appointment. The car will not be released to any courier's etc until all money has cleared. Before making ANY payments the buyer is to contact me within 24 hrs for full payment details otherwise the sale will be voided and ebay notified so please bid to buy not look. Contact me on 0414 768 338 Phil. Vehicle is listed else where and I reserve the right to remove prior to the end of auction. May swap for Harley Dyna Wideglide or Streetbob.

Forgot to mention that ive also performed the shelby mustang mod to the car. This mod brings the front of the car down by 1" on its own and greatly assists with handling. It also prevents the ball joints from binding upon lowering the car to aquire the final ride height of 2" lowered.
