For sale at NO RESERVE: Original survivor 77k mile 1976 GMC Sierra K15 4x4, one family owned for 45 years, 1976-2021. Purchased new at Grimes Motors in the mountain town of Helena, MT by a local service station owner. The truck was parked inside at the service station and used for chasing parts and the occasional service call. I purchased from the original owner's daughter last year, I've known the truck since it was new. Original owner was a maintenance fanatic, and it shows. While it does have some wear and tear on the exterior, the original interior is near perfect, owing to years of inside storage. Truck still has both original Power-Beam headlights and all the original Safety Flo-Lite glass including windshield. Original paperwork including manuals, warranty booklets, SPID tag and owner card. Original keys, original jack and tools, and original spare tire carrier. Original factory stickers and chalk marks still present under hood. In many ways, it's a way-back machine to driving a brand new truck in 1976. Great rig to leave up at the mountain cabin or lake property as is, or do exterior body and paint and have a show truck. I'll do my best to describe this specialtruck below, please see the Flickralbum with over 100 detail pics including undercarriage and the YouTube walk around and start up video.
Exterior: Original Spring green (medium green) paint still presents well. Truck looks very clean and will draw a crowd at Home Depot or the Co-Op feed store. DOES HAVE DENTS from service station mountain rescues as well as some minor lower body rust. While this truck never saw salted roads, it does have the typical corrosion where mud builds up behind all four wheels, and around the passenger front wheel opening. Thankfully there's none of the structural rot seen on midwest and northeast trucks, and of course we don't see frame issues here out west. Chrome/stainless is bright with no pitting. Drive as is or do the body and paint and have a $40k truck. Again, check the over 100 detail pics including underside in the referenced Flickralbum below.
Interior: All original and in excellent condition - really a time capsule. Original owner was a fussy, meticulous guy about his truck. No tears in original seat upholstery or door panels, there is a crack in the dash near the radio speaker. Original Safety Flo-lite glass is good including windshield(does have a small chip). I believe absolutely everything works, right down to the seat belt buzzer. Overall very usable and functional rig, ready to drive as is.
Mechanical: Starts, runs, and drives out very well. 77k miles are original, and truck has a tight, low mile feel. Original LS9 350 four barrel, Turbo 350 automatic, and NP 203 transfer case all working as they should. Does puff a bit from valve seals at startup, as would be expected. In many ways, feels like driving a new 1976 truck - would be even better with radial tires instead of the 7.00-15 traction bias ply tires(which are in good condition). Has a manual throttle under hood with power inverter installed for service calls. Left fuel tank hasn't been used in a while, I'd drain that beforeusing, running off right tank. Very unmolested original truck. As with anyolder vehicle, it willneed maintenance andrepairs along the way. If you live inastate with very strict vehicle inspections, they will no doubt findsomething for you to fix, so expect that. These trucks are noted forreliability and build quality, and are fairly simple to work on withgood parts availability.
