REDUCED!!
You knew the boss was on property when this truck was parked on site. This was the "Denali" version for someone who actually needed a truck to do serious work.
This truck is rare. The amount of GMC Sierra 3500 Single Rear Wheel 4x4 Diesels with the SLT package made in 1997 were miniscule. Finding a two-tone red/grey with factory leather in the single cab 8ft bed is yet even smaller. Then, look for one with low miles that hasn't been beat to a pulp. Good luck.
Here however, is the opportunity to cash in on my loss. The past year and a half, my son and I have done a mild restoration on the truck. Bed was pulled off and scaled/POR15 applied to the frame/underside of the bed. Tons of new parts were added:
-New Fuel Tank
-New Fuel Lines
-New sending unit and pumps
-New Brakes
-New Rancho Shocks at all four corners
-New Batteries
-New Headlight Switch
-New U-Joints
-Frame was welded and coated with POR15 up front due to rust issue
The truck runs and drives well. The SES light is on, As mentioned above, passenger side (turbo side) exhaust manifold is cracked and needs to be repaired or replaced. High pressure fuel lines should be replaced at this time but are not leaking as of now. There is a slight oil leak, just a drop or two a week. The PMD has already been relocated to the driver side wheel well and works as it should. Mechanically those are the only issues we have found that need immediate attention. Cosmetically, the truck is gorgeous as seen in the pics. There are a few spots of paint chips missing on the hood, and a couple dings in the bed. Nothing out of the ordinary for a 25 year old truck with 82k miles. Bed shows wear, but is not rusted out. One small hole in the front passenger side of the bed. Tailgate is missing the medallions for GMC/Sierra but is in great condition.
The 6.5 Detroit Diesel is a special power plant. Great sound, tons of torque. Not obnoxious, but quietly powerful. There is something about driving this truck in the dusk hours with the windows down. Parking lamps only, top 5 lights are blazing away and people out walking stop and turn to see something that they know is different but they don't really know why. This really is a rare truck. People who know, know. The buyer is going to be one of those people. Prices are ridiculous right now. They are not going down anytime soon. New truck dealers who sold work trucks at 7-10k below MSRP for decades are now asking 10-15K OVER MSRP for the same type of truck. And you know they are not being made as well as they used to be made in the 90's and 2000's. If the work were done on this truck, it would be worth double what I'm asking. Our shop is stretched thin as it is and doesn't have time for the project. Hopefully, you can finish what my son and I started on this one and enjoy it for years to come.
Full disclosure, I am a licensed PA dealer. However, this is my truck. In my name, clean PA title. If you need help with shipping we can assist you in finding a good shipper. Please look at my feedback. No games, no scams. Title and truck will be released once payment has cleared. Feel free to contact with any questions. Thanks, Dan
