Description
SUPER, SUPER RARE AND HARD TO FIND: How many of these have you seen??? A 1966 GMC Suburban 4x4 Half Ton school bus. Outstanding rare candidate for restoration. The engine is what we believe to be a GM 350 V8 engine but can not guarantee cubic inches of engine. Has 4 barrel carburator. Has automatic transmission. Not a running or driving vehicle. Good straight body with minimal body damage. The body has very minimal rust. Solid floors and rocker panels. Most of the rust is confined to both lower front fenders (see pictures ) where all GM trucks of this vintage have issues of collecting mud behind the fender brace and setting up a rust issue over the years. Glass is good with no cracks. This Suburban does not belong to me. I'm listing it for a family member that does not have a Ebay account. Here is the story on this Suburban:
The gentleman who started this restoration passed away before its completion. Was purchased from estate. Engine looks as though it was taken out and overhauled and set down in truck, but engine never fully hooked up again. We have never heard the engine run, but there is strong evidence by close examination that the engine has been taken out and perhaps overhauled due to the new paint on motor and not fully hooked up to run yet, but no guarantees on condition of engine. Oil pan has fresh paint as does the top end of engine. Oil on dipstick looks new. Exhaust is not hooked up. Transfer case is intact and hooked up, but shifting levers not installed. Shifting levers are included and laying in back of Suburban ( see pictures ). Both drive shafts are in place. Was used by a school district as a school bus. Only one rear seat available, but rare school bus grab bar intact. Has 16 inch wheels with Michelin tires. Current Oklahoma tag and good Oklahoma title.
School buses have become very popular and collectible vehicles. However, if owning a School bus is not your thing, then a 4x4 Suburban of this vintage is very rare and desirable. Chances are you will be the only one to show up at a car show or cruise night. THIS IS A PUBLIC AUCTION, AND AS WITH ALL "PUBLIC AUCTIONS", THE RESERVE IS NOT MADE PUBLIC. What you see is what you get. No warranties implied or expressed. If you have questions, please email, text or call me at 918-606-1338. No foreign buyers please. Please remember that your bid on Ebay is a legal binding contract to purchase if you are the high bidder. Serious bidders only please. If you have negative feedback or less than 100 feedback you must call "PRIOR TO BIDDING" or risk your bid being canceled. Sorry about that folks, but a few bad experiences over the years from buyers who fail to live up to their commitments make it tough for all.
TERMS OF SALE.
A $500.00 non-refundable deposit is required with 24 hours of end of auction by Paypal or wire bank transfer to my bank. The balance is to be paid within 5 days by cash, personal check, bank wire transfer or cashiers check. We will accept Paypal only for the deposit due to their fees on this amount of money. If a personal check or cashiers check is used for balance payment, a hold will be put on vehicle until my bank says funds have cleared. Thanks for looking and have fun bidding!!!!
