Description

1994 gave us the Forrest Gump, Pulp Fiction, Speed, the death of Kurt Cobain and the Holden Vr Commodore.
The VR series came with an updated, sleeker and more modern design, as well as safety enhancements such as anti-lock brakes (ABS). From the side, the biggest change was the revised daylight opening around the C-pillar and the use of a round rear wheel arch, instead of a squared-off shape used on the previous VN and VP model Commodores. The VR Acclaim and Calais included a driver's side Supplemental Restraint System (SRS)[3] air bag as standard, which was a first for an Australian car. They also had standard ABS brakes and independent rear suspension (IRS). The airbag, ABS brakes and IRS were also available across the range for both automatic transmission and manual transmission models. The rear-end treatment saw raised tail lamps, which were recessed high up on the boot lid for safety reasons. A new electronic version of the Turbo-Hydromantic 700R4 (TH700) automatic transmission was introduced, known as the GM 4L60-E. The VR Commodore was Wheels Car of the Year for 1993.
This VR series 2 Spac commodore has been my daily car for the last 5 years, the previous owner was a family friend and my mechanic and has been serviced every 3-4 months, this ute is not show quality and has not spent its entire life in a garage and only driven to church however it is mechanically A1 and I would have NO concerns starting it tomorrow morning and driving to QLD and back without any issues.
It is duel fuel and has a Gas Research gas system with a 100L tank which gives 520Km of city driving and gives almost 650km of highway driving. It has a cam to suit LPG and the dizzy has been re-curved to suit the cam, pacemaker headers and a UNICHIP engine control unit, and an aluminium radiator that’s only 6 months old, hsv wheels and VT front brakes and the sound system has Bluetooth.
The ute has 11 months of registration but will not come with a RWC, and some spare parts iv collected over the years inc sports steering wheel, front springs to lift the front 1 inch. I also have the red strip from the front bumper bar that matches the red strips on the side of the ute, it started coming off a few months ago and I was going to stick it back on for the photos but I ran out of time.
I removed the aftermarket lpg gauge and installed a genuine Holden one but I haven’t run the wire from the sender on the tank to the gauge so I just top up the tank every 500km, the speedo reads 113892km but it’s actually a little closer to 114000km because the odometer stopped working a couple of weeks ago. I’ve tried looking for another one with around the same kms but I’ve had no luck, I will try to get the odometer fixed prior to the end of the auction or get another one.
I’m selling because I’m now working in the city so I got my bike licence and the Ute now just sits under the car port. The ute has some stone chips and some tiny dents but it only has 114000kms on the clock, you are not bidding to buy NOT to come around and test drive down chapel st with a mate, to tell me the paint is not as good as you though or how you sold one in better condition for cheaper and try to haggle with me on the price. You are welcome to come and test drive with me prior the the end of the auction.
Pick up is from the CBD and I am happy to answer any questions as best I can.
