Description

Thank you for viewing my Holden Commodore auction.
I have owned this vehicle for 5 years. It has not been registered in that time; although I have always maintained it in running condition.
It has always been stored in a garage.
One of the best features of this car is that it has no rust at all. Most of these 34 year old cars have rust in many places - under the windscreen, in the boot, etc.
This car has no rust under the windscreen - I have had a brand new windscreen installed, and while it was out I checked for rust and repainted the window surround for lasting protection from moisture, before the new screen went in it. This car is from inland NSW, that's why the body is in great condition.
Another great feature is that this car is complete. No missing consoles, door handles, or anything else. It is all there, even the original radio. The interior is in excellent condition; the original carpet still intact, dash not cracked. The cloth seats must have been on option for the original purchaser, as it doesn't have the vinyl seats like most of these models.
I have carried out many small repairs on this car, including a full rebuild of the front brakes, brake calipers, hoses, and wheel bearings. I've installed a refurbished petrol tank because of a fuel leak on the old one. It has all new vent hoses, and has been painted for protection, as has the whole boot area.
The battery is relatively new; it is installed in a Moroso battery box in the boot, correctly ventilated and installed with professionally made cable and stainless steel cable clamps. I'm an engineer so I have done all of this work properly.
The body is 98% straight, just a couple of "car park" type dents. No major damage. All lights work.
All tyres are like new. The rear two are actually brand new, they haven't done one kilometre; they are only about 2 weeks old. The other three (two fronts and the spare)are 95% tread, like new. Tyres are good brand like Dunlop and Michelin, not cheap brands.
All wheels are Holden steel wheels from VY police car - 7 inches wide, not the standard 6 inch wide. This includes the spare, which is also 7" wide. This is a deviation from standard - the original wheels were 14 inch.
This vehicle is unregistered and I haven't taken it for a safety certificate. This is reflected in the low asking price for such a great condition car. Since the car has new brakes, new windscreen, excellent tyres and all the lights work, it is well on its way to achieving a safety.
The car probably needs a decent service since the engine has a small oil leak. It runs OK but a little bit rough at times. I have driven this car several times and it runs well, no problem on the highway or around town.
This is a 34 year old car so it is not perfect, but the price is not high either. It could be registered on club rego since it is over 30 years old. These models are getting quite hard to find now in complete and rust free condition. I personally think this will only go up in value from now on.
Please email with any other questions or for specific pictures. Inspection before purchase is fine, upon negotiation of a suitable time since I have to work much of the time.
