Relisted due to non-paying buyer.
Up for sale is my WB Statesman De Ville, it was built in 1983 in December.
The car currently has rego till November this year.
I regretfully have to sell this car as I have had to reduce my work down to 3 days a week and I cannot afford to have more than one car. Unfortunately the De Ville has drawn the short straw.
I purchased this off an older gentleman out in the country, he got it rust proofed about 20 years ago, the car only has 240,000kms on the clock which for its age is remarkable, it drives and handles like new.
The car runs beautifully on both petrol and gas, it is almost as economical on gas as my wife's lancer.The boot is huge even with the gas tank tucked behind the rear seats, it is also setup with a towbar with a powered braking system (the older gentleman I bought it off used to use the Statesman to tow a small caravan once a year).
The automatic gearbox is in good condition, as is the engine, no rattles of clunks, once the engine is warm you can barely hear it running.
It has caprice wheels, the interior is in fantastic condition and the bodywork is neat and tidy, the older gentleman I purchased the car off has touched up stone chips with a brush over the years and has patched up one small bit of rust behind the passenger door the rust hasn’t come back so I assume it was done well, other than some stone chips I cannot fault the car.
The car really is what you see is what you get, you can get in it and drive it as a daily driver without any issues, it doesn’t run hot or use oil.
It will pass registration come November without any issues, it is also elegible for historic/car club registration as it is over 30 years old.
I currently have it insured with NRMA vintage insurance for the value of $10,000
