Description
I'm a pom, and looks likely that I will have to return to the UK in the near future. Have had this HZ Ute for 6 years now, a weekend runner for me, and need to sell it off.
I am very happy to answer questions as honestly as possible (within the knowledge I have) about the car, hoping it goes to a caring owner who might show me what it looks like ten years from now :)
Some details:
253 V8, quadrajet carby, dual fuel (but has been tuned in favour of gas), bucket seats, GTS dash.
4SP Manual on the floor. Panasonic MP3 player.
Gas tank in tray.
Tinted windows
Tray stoneguarded last year.
New battery, clutch, cables, sparks.
Will update this with more details over auction.
Custom work: badge, aerial, passenger lock/mirror all removed. Tarp attached by pop rivet holes. Lowered.
A head turner as they say.
The Good:Engine has been good to me, never given me any trouble. Been to Mt Hotham every year in her just fine!Body is good. Not had any major rust issues and have been told the body is tidy and worth turning into a showcar.
The Bad:
Clutch pedal is not setup right. Rides higher than other pedals. Ive been driving it fine like this (see photo) since I have had it. Don't interpret this as a lazy owner, I am just used to it.
I have had several people confirm that its the wrong pedal for the clutch - It's a 6cy pedal and on the wrong hole, just need to find the right pedal to fix.Gas system has never been replaced in the 6years I have had it. On the first start at a weekend, it can take a good 3-5 seconds to startup. After that it starts up instantly.Driver bucket seat has some wear and tear (see photo), for RWC needs a cover.
RWC:
Selling without a RWC. I had a RWC pre-check done last week and apart from the small things the only major one I see is that the gas tank is out of date and tyres are borderline (tread is still good).
Rego:
This is due now, so will come with one years rego.
If I didn't sell it
If I didn't have to head back to the UK, my To-Do list was along the lines of (bearing in mind I just want a reliable and nice looking car):
- Do some work on the dash/electrics. Electrics are fairly messy behind the dash. Some gauges are suspect. Missing a clock.
- Get the right clutch pedal.
- Get a union jack sprayed on the bonnet
Let me know if you have any questions.
Anyone want to inspect that's fine. No tyrekickers please. If you want to drive, you need insurance (+proof), happy to drive you around the block and onto the main road.
