COMPLETE RESTORATION APART FROM SEATS AND SAFETY BELTS. HAVE CUT OUT A PIECE OF RUST IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT GUARD IN BOOT. ALL BOLTS, SMALL PARTS AND HINGES HAVE BE RE ANODISED. FULLY RE PAINTED. BOUGHT A TURBO 400. HAVE LONG LIST OF PARTS FITTED TO IT. STAGE 2 B&M REBUILD WITH EXTRA GOOD BITS. HAS A NEW TURBO PATTERN CASE AS ORIGINAL BOX HAD CRACKS ALL OVER IT. THE ENGINE BUILDER WANTED ME TO FIT 4 1/2 THOUSAND STALL CONVERTOR BUT IT WAS TOO FRIGHTENING TO DRIVE AND HARD TO USE AROUND TOWN. ENDED UP SETTLING FOR A 2,600 STALL AND A 308 REAR END. NEW TAIL SHAFT, NEW DISC BRAKE, SHORTENED DIFF WITH NEW GEARS AND CLUTCHES, NEW B&M PRO RATCHET SHIFTER. DANDENONG ENGINE RECONDITIONING COMPANY FOUND ME A STD BORE TURBO PATTERN 308 AND MADE IT INTO A 330 LIGHTLY STROKED. WE FITTED NEW ALUMINIUM SINGLE PLAIN INTAKE, NEW ALUMINIUM HEADS WITH MANUAL ADJUST ROLLER ROCKERS, CRANE CAM DESIGNED FOR MAX POWER ON LPG IN THIS SET UP, SOLID LIFTERS, NEW PUSHRODS AND SET OF SCAT CONNECTING RODS, ACL PISTONS WITH COATED SKIRTS. EVEN WITH THIS CAM THE MOTOR WAS RUN IN ON 98 OCTANE ULP AND RAN OVER 400HP. THEN THE VEHICLE WAS FITTED WITH CORRECT VALVE SPRINGS FOR LPG AND ALL BALANCED. THE CAR WAS THEN FITTED WITH THE ENGINE, A NEW DESERT COOLER ALUMINIUM RADIATOR, TWIN THERMO FANS, HIGH TORQUE STARTER MOTOR, EXHAUST SYSTEM WAS HAND MADE AND WAS JET HOT TREATED INTERNALLY AND EXTERNALLY WITH BLACK FINISH.
FULL ICE IGNITION. SWIFT AUTOMOTIVE GAS RESEARCH FITTED ONE OF ONLY A HANDFUL OF THEIR NEW SINGLE LPG 4 BARREL CARBYS. EVERY RUBBER BUSH IN THE CAR HAS BEEN REPLACED, PEDDERS OF BENDIGO FITTED NEW STEERING RACK AND SUSPENSION. I FITTED AIR BAGS IN THE REAR COILS TO HELP WITH CHANGES IN LOAD AND GROUND CLEARANCE. NEW GAUGES (ENGINE OIL PSI, TRANS TEMP, WATER TEMP, SPEEDO AND TACO), NEW CHROME BUMPERS, NEW SLR BLACK AND CHROME MIRRORS, NEW BRAKE SYSTEM COMPLETE FROM ONE END TO THE OTHER, REPOLISHED RIMS AND NEW TYRES AT THE TIME (FRONT 90% AND REAR 60%) SINCE REBUILD HAS ONLY TRAVELLED 5,000 KMS. RETRIMMING HOOD LINING AND ARM RESTS ON TOP OF DOORS WAS DONE BY GAVIN HILL, TH 400 WAS DONE BY JAY AT FLUID DRIVE BENDIGO, DIFF WAS DONE BY JOHN AT CENTRAL DIFFS, CHELTENHAM, ALLOY HEADS DONE BY DAVE BENNETT BUILT FOR EITHER LPG OR ULP, INTAKE MAINFOLD SINGLE PLANE BUILT BY TORQUE POWER, EXTRACTORS PACEMAKER EXHAUST SYSTEM HAND BUILT BY CRAIG PEARCE, HIGH VOLUME SUMP AND IMMOBILIZER WITH MULTIPLE DETERRENTS.
