Description
This was a one owner car before it
was purchased from an old lady who had deceased. The vehicle was originally
purchased in Essendon VIC from Preston Motors show room on the 23/08/1972 and
had never left there until it was transported on a truck from there to Canberra
in October 2011.
Since purchasing the vehicle it has never been driven and to date has only mechanically travelled 19035 miles, and this shows in the overall condition of the car.
All the original owners’ books go with the car. All three tags present and have never been removed. The vehicle was last registered until August 2011.
Motor/Transmission:
· The intention was to fit a 253 and get it engineered in the ACT but have run out of time and money. The car is well on its way to meeting NCOP VSB14 requirements.
· The 253 may be stroked but I'm not sure.
· New disc braked 9"
· Full chassis strengthening kit
· New B and M shifter (Shift Kitted Trimatic)
· New Aluminium radiator and twin 10" thermos
· New Gilmer drive
· New springs front and rear
Interior:
· *Antique saddle interior in excellent condition, it even smells like a new Torana with a little bit of dust in the mix.
Body & Paint:
· *Nutmeg Metallic paint in good condition
· Wheels 15" steelies to fit the big new brakes front and rear.
· Window rubbers and door seals are all very good.
· Window glass all very good.
· Straight bumper bars, taillight and headlight surrounds and grille has no cracks.
· Original Venetian and external sun visor
*Bad points:
Motor/Transmission:
· The carby, brake components like master cylinder and booster are just sitting in the boot.
· The car is complete but there may be some little items required to complete the conversion.
· A six could be reinstalled with minimal effort thus removing the requirement to have it engineered.
Body & Paint:
· There is a very small blemish of rust in the left hand corner on the front window otherwise no rust.
· There is a scrape on the left hand side rear wheel arch and door.
· Bonnet has paint fade damage only. Had a car cover on the vehicle and it rained, removed the cover and the paint on the bonnet only was faded, no idea what happened here.
Interior:
· Interior has some discolouration across the top of the back seat but the vinyl is still soft.
I’m only making a point of these so you know exactly what you’re getting which is a very solid Torana in better than great condition.
This little beauty is a real Aussie gem and will be sold as is without rego.
Would suit CAR ENTHUSIASTS.
