Description
Original VK Group A stolen and recovered. Missing compliance plates but has the original HDT Plate and Numbers and also original Group A built number on the glove box.The detail needs to be seen to be aprieciated and I won't be able to remember all the details whilst I am writing this add.
The car has had the same owner for 16 years and been in the family for 21 and is only being sold due to family commitments.
Make no mistake , this car is one of a kind and I don't even know where to start.
The car has run 11.2 at 117mph with the running gear that comes with it.
The shell has been completely stitch welded including crossmember and trailing arms attachments for strength and longativity, all door locks have been welded and also the petrol flap & arial hole have been welded to give a prestige look.All factory dings and imperfections in the engine bay have been panel beated (not bogged) and the chassis rails have been welded and detailed.the bonnet uses Vt struts as well.
All wiring is hidden in the engine bay.
The Engine is a 4 bolt main with hand made steel bearing caps with a Come 355 chev crank and 6in rods for more torque.Chev pistons as well. (Engine needs to be Asembled) the block is a Vt 5L that suites the roller cam.the block valley has been grinded for better oil flow and sump is also Vt to stop oil movement around corners. Timing cover ,rocker cover etc are all Crome,polished or detailed.
Heads are alloy Come Racing that flowed 650hp. (Fully assembled)with roller rockers and 7/16 bolts.
Gearbox is a 6 speed out of a Vx GTS with ceramic plate clutch and Custom 3.5 in tailshaft and massive ini joints(can't remember the name Mark something)Pedal box is out of a VL which makes the complete system hydraulic.
Exhaust is a custom made dual 3 in with custom extractors to fit the 6 speed.
Diff is a custom 9in with 31spline billet axles and billet bearing caps wth 4:3-1 ratio limited slip.
Suspension is all heavy duty lowered with coil/overs on the front.
Brakes have crome calipers front and rear with 330mm VN Group A brakes on the front and Vx GTS 315mm on the rear.
The wheels are VX GTS bough brand new from Holden.
All bolts arms washers have all been cromed.
the running gear alone is worth the cost of the auction and original Group A is rare.
The car needs patience,paint and the engine assembled. The hard yards have been done with the body being Gun barrel straight.
