Description
Outsold only by the soft and plush Camry, Honda Accord is one of the best family sedans on the market. The Accord's roomy cabin, solid built quality and top safety ratings are the key selling points. The Accord's interior is very stylish with plenty of room in the front and back. Front seats are comfortable on long trips and the visibility is excellent all-around. The driving experience is good too. The ride is a bit on the firm side and not as quiet as in the Camry or Malibu, but comfortable. Overall, it's a very safe and reliable car.
I am the second owner of this vehicle, having purchased it locally in 2009. It has been (as might be expected from a Honda product) very reliable, and for the majority of the time I have owned it, I brought it to the local dealership for service according to the maintenance schedule suggested by Honda. Last year I required a new clutch and had that work done by a local mechanic with whom I have done a lot of business over the past number of years as the owner of a 2005 Toyota Tundra and formerly a 2002 Toyota Tercel. The Accord has newer brakes (last year) a new battery (this year) and, as noted above, a new (used) engine which was installed at the end of summer 2015. The timing chain in the old engine stretched (as is apparently a common issue with this engine) and skipped, causing the timing to be out of synch, and apparently fairly serious damage to the valves. On the advice on my mechanic I had a new (used) engine installed which I was told has less than 50,000 miles on it. Since I had already bought and paid for the timing chain kit for the old engine, thinking that it would be fixable, the mechanic installed it on the new engine instead, so that should be one less concern going forward. I am selling this car because I have a teenaged son who became the principle driver on it when my daughter purchased her own car, and my insurance took a $2,000 a year leap!! I am genuinely sorry to see it go and will be looking at another Accord when my current vehicles need to be replaced. It is used, but it has also been well loved. Almost new Goodyear Eagle tires mounted on the alloy rims, with a set Michelin Arctic Alpin winter tires mounted on steel rims included in this auction. Two of the Michelins are approaching the end of their useful lives, but the other two are in good condition.
This vehicle is also for sale locally (Ottawa, Ontario, Canada) so I reserve the right to end the auction early if a local buyer is identified prior to the end of this auction.
