Description

Honda Civic Type R, Premier Edition 2005
MOT’d until 21.11.15
Here is my 2005 Honda Civic Type R, Premier Edition, 107,000 miles on the clock which is just over average miles for a car this age. It has been left completely standard, I have owned the car for just under 4 years and over this time it has been a very reliable car, with only having to replace tyres breaks an one auxiliary belt.
The spec of the Premier edition car, comes as standard with Recaro bucket seat, a momo steering wheel, tinted windows and red carpets. There are Honda type R mats included but the driver’s side is worn around the where my heal goes, the seats are in very good condition, I have a fitted seat cover for the driver’s side i used to use to protect the seat, and there is no major wear on the side bolsters. The car has a AC fitted which was an optional extra an everything works in the car, there is a standard CD player in the car but I fitted a device to the rear of the head unit to retrofit an AUX cable.
Mechanically its sound, the engine and gearbox runs well and the Vtec kicks in as it should. I have had it serviced from the time I have owned the car. I bought it from a Mitsubishi main dealer and that’s where it’s been serviced, however it Is due a service now. The previous service history is present but there are a few services missing so it only has part service history, when the engine is started from cold it sounds tappetey, which it has been like since the day I brought the car, once the engine has warmed up this quiets down. it also has a rattle on the engine which only comes when you have the car in a low gear and go to pull off, its nothing major just most likely the cam plastic engine cover or a heat shield somewhere, but I have just got used to it now.
The tyres are all good with the fronts be new this year with Avon’s an the rears are Toyo’s, however the rear left is running lower then the rear right due to having to replace the rear right due to a puncture. I replaced the front and rear discs and pads about 18 months ago for standard Honda discs and Ferodo DS2500 pads on the front and standard discs and pads on the back.
The body work is in good condition for the age of the vehicle, there are a fair few stone chips on the bonnet but it is 10 years old, there is also a small dink in the drivers door and a dink under the wing mirror, which should be able to be popped out by a specialist for not to much. The wheels are in fairly good condition but could do with a refurb as there are a few small scuffs but mainly it’s the brake dust eating into the wheels and tarnishing them.
There is also a very slight scuff on the back bumper, which I think was done in a car park, it left a small scratch that you can barely see but looks like the bumper is very slightly out of line to the rear wing.
It’s an honest un-molested car which has been well maintained and always kept topped up with oil, have never smoked inside the car. I am selling due to buying a new car, the pictures dont really do the car justice.
