FOR SALE MY HONDA S2000 2001
I bought her in November 2012 and i know its a cliche but i looked at a few before i found this one, it was by far best condition and most important to me un-modded.
Unfortunately she is registered as a CAT C due to a low speed collision on the left side last year.
This resulted in panel damage to the n/s wing, n/s door and n/s rear quarter.
The car that hit me was an old ford focus with a high front bumper, that luckily did no damage to the sills.
This is not the usual accident damaged S2000 where someone has overcooked it into a hedge or worse!
As these are designed as roadsters from scratch all of the strength is in the floor, this was untouched after the accident, no airbags were deployed, wheels were untouched and i was able to drive the car home perfectly fine afterwards. I have photos of the damage.
Unfortunately the A-pillar was damaged where the door is hinged from. This resulted in the CAT C classification. That combined with the insurance companies requirement to repair with OEM Honda panels, which are extortionately expensive, led to them declaring it a financial write off.
With the £4,500 payout i received, i bought the car off the insurers and got it professionally repaired with a second hand front wing, second hand door, jigged the A-pillar straight and repaired the rear quarter by having a piece welded in with the minimal amount of filler. She was then given a full respray in the original Berlina Black and all four wheels refurbed in grey.
If it wasn't for knowing the condition the car was in i wouldn't of done this and could of just gone out and bought another.
I am selling as i fancy a change and i rarely keep cars for longer then 6 months but i have enjoyed this S2000 immensely, but i now want to go back to turbo power.
I am after a late reg Mitsubishi 3000GT / GTO 6 speed Manual TT so may part ex for the right car.
FSH, Honda until 80,000 miles and independent after. Has OEM Alarm 3 fobs and 2 keys, also optional extra Xenon headlights.
Had new plugs, engine oil and oil filter (still gold), K&N Air Filter, Diff oil and Honda MTF3 gearbox oil changed in March ready for the summer.
Also had a full laser suspension/wheel alignment done in February and the same the year before. ( Very important on these)!
It has been a second car mainly used on weekends, i have made the following improvements-
Fitted Face lift door cards with the extra pair of tweeters.
Alpine door speakers.
Face lift Mohair roof with glass rear screen.
Clear Side indicators.
Modifry roof straps (ensures the roof retracts fully as original elastic gets tired).
GT Roof latches (Creates a tighter seal, prevents wind noise at high speed).
OEM style K&N Cone Air filter in place of the OEM Cone Air filter.
Private Reg plate (which will be sold with the car).
There is a couple of small faults that i should mention-
The O/S exhaust back box rattles when cold on tick-over. Never bothered me as soon clears when its warmed up.
When i had the suspension alignment done the garage mentioned that the bushes on the o/s lower control arm are splitting, these would need changing for the next MOT.
The Air-Con doesn't pump cold air, it never has in my ownership and being a convertible it has never needed to!
There is some poorly touched up kerb damage to 2 of the wheels on one side as shown in pictures, other side is fine.
That's about it really, its an honest sale and I would like to see it go to a good home.
It still has the original head unit and CD multi-changer in the boot, Tonneau cover is also included.
Drives spot on and never fails to put a smile on my face, V-Techs like it should, good tires, good brakes its ready to get in and enjoy.
Viewings welcomed, accompanied test drives possible with proof of insurance and full asking price provided.
I am using it most weekends so mileage will increase slightly. Please check you can get insurance on one of these as can be quite pricey.
