Description
Honda S2000 - 2004 Facelift - Moonrock
You are looking at my pride and joy and the ultimate when it comes to S2000s (2004 - 2005 model).
It has been impeccably maintained and the car wants for nothing.
- The paint work is in good condition for the age & mileage
- Alloy wheels have been freshly refurbished in my ownership and are in perfect condition
- The interior is also impeccable
Below is a list of the continuous maintenance:
- Full service history with all oil & filter changes documented
- Oil & filter last changed 30 miles ago - Top quality Fuchs Titan Race Pro S used
- MOT until February 2017, no advisories
- Last 4-wheel geometry completed in February 2016 only 135 miles ago
- Gearbox oil changed (Honda MTF-3)
- Differential oil changed (Redline GL5 Hypoid)
- Uprated Brake fluid changed (ATE)
- Brand new mohair roof fitted March 2014
- Wheels refurbished in bright silver
- All Brake Calipers replaced and painted
- Brake Discs replaced (MTEC Zinc Coated Grooved)
- Brake Pads replaced (EBC Yellowstuff)
- HPi Clear
The main thing to ensure for anyone looking to buy an S2000, is that all geometry bolts are not seized and a full 4 wheel geometry can be performed. Many S2000's have not had this work completed, and will have seized geometry bolts, often making it impossible to get the geo within spec, or to the desired settings. A result of this means a hefty bill (well over 4 figures at most specialists) to do the following:
- Cut out geo bolts
- Cut/burn suspension bushes out
- Replace with new geo bolts (fully greased with marine grade grease)
- Replace and fit new bushes
- Perform an initial geo, and a further geo after 500 miles of use once settled.
My car has undergone the above work with new OEM Honda geo bolts and Mugen suspension bushes. This ensures that this car will never need to undergo such treatment again and saves the future owner having to worry about it (or the cost).
For that reason, I feel this car really is a step above the rest. The difference is night and day between the way the car feels before and after a good geo setup, and it was worth every penny for me and is what this car is all about.
Some choice upgrades are also included on the car:
- Eibach springs (they reduce the arch gap approximately 25mm, help reduce body roll, but remain very compliant around town and bumpy roads. They have a very OEM feel in fact).
- Low mileage OEM shocks fitted with springs to ensure a complete suspension re-fresh
- UK Exhaust mod completed on OEM system (gives the exhaust note more character without being overly loud or offensive whilst keeping the OEM look)
- OEM Lip-spoiler
- MTEC grooved brake discs (the grooves help deglaze the brake pad, and simply maintain a consistent high level of performance)
- EBC YellowStuff brake pads (these pads offer higher performance than OEM)
- Tegiwa brake master cylinder brace (which gives much improved braking feel)
- Rear lower brace (this firms up the back end of the car and generally gives more feel and predictability)
- Sony Bluetooth/CD Headunit (OEM item is also supplied, however, the Sony unit is far superior)
- Stereo Remote Harness (Enables the stereo remote control buttons on the dashboard to work)
I will finish on why I believe the 2004 - 2005 Facelift is the best of the bunch:
- Facelift body work, lights and bigger forged alloy wheels
- Updated engine
* Does not drink oil, unlike the pre-facelift
* Stronger valve spring retainers
- Updated centre console, door cards/tweeters and speedo
- Avoids the tax hike in 2006
Thanks for looking, I believe I have covered everything - but please do not hesitate to get in touch with any questions or to arrange a viewing.
Test drives will not be permitted until valid insurance is produced.
