Description
Restore, resto-mod, rat, patina, what have you. This vehicle is complete except motor and transmission. I have all the stainless trim in great shape (this trim is some of the hardest parts to locate if you need them). The quarter panels, doors and left fender are very, very straight. There is a dent in the deck lid and a couple of small ones in the hood. The right front fender has been previously worked but still needs a little more attention. The front floorboards are gone but I have the patch panels for them. The rear floorboards, trunk and fenders are solid. The side glass is all cracked and delaminated and I do have the rear window in good shape. No windshields but I do have new gaskets for the windshields and the rear window. Windshields are available from Bob's Auto Glass and most any glass shop can cut the flat glass. I have both the front and rear seat springs.
This car is better than a parts car, it is very restorable. The car does roll easily for loading. Very early production (427th car built on the first day of 1951 model year production). This is a pretty scarce model.
I've been asked several questions regarding rust. The rear perimeter frame is crusty but I don't see any holes. The rear quarters, doors and front fenders show no rust through. There is a small hole on the right side rocker panel where the cowl vent drain drains. Please ask any further questions, I'm happy to answer or provide additional photos.
