Description
This beautiful Hudson Hornet was way ahead of it's time in 1951!! This was one of the first automobiles in the 50's to feature more aerodynamic styling and was a precursor of the Jet Age styling to come in the late 50's and early 60's. Hudson termed it Step Down styling with a low roofline and rounded wind sculpted body that flowed from nose to tail. To say this is one pretty automobile would be a huge understatement. This is an unrestored automobile, and dare I say it, the 24,824 miles indicated could be original? The paint finish is good overall with blemishes here and there that are indicative of its age, but from a few feet away it looks gorgeous. The classic whitewalls only add to the appeal, and are period correct reproductions. Inside, this interior has to be one of the best to ever come out of a production vehicle. The warm brown tones, two tone seats, chrome accents, trim work, and intricate dashboard provide the feel of a classic lounge or study. The bench seats are super comfortable, there is plenty of room front and rear, and the upholstery has held up exceedingly well for being 70 years old! The engine is believed to be untouched and original. It features the 308CI flat head inline six cylinder with the Twin H double carburetors on a cast iron manifold. The engine starts easily, runs quiet, and is super smooth cruising down the road. The transmission is a sporty three speed manual on the steering column, and there is a mechanical overdrive that drops the rpm at highway speed to make this a long distance fuel sipping cruiser!! This could be one of the worlds first American sports sedans? It out ran everything else in its day, and was known for its performance on the track on NASCAR dirt tracks all over the south. Disney even featured this car in it's classic animated film CARS as Doc Hudson! This cool classic sedan can be yours at an extremely attractive price. It wont be here long, so contact Brian at 352-390-4028 today!!
