1991 INTERNATIONAL 4000-46
This well preserved workhorse started it's life as a service vehicle at the Long Island airport . It was appropriately geared with a 5.88 rear end, driven by a 7.3L diesel and an Allison automatic transmission. After the owner purchased the car in 2015, he had the rear end changed to a 3.73 and now this tow vehicle is up to street use, cruising @ +70MPH. It now has just over 75,000 miles on it.
The truck is in very good condition for its age. It presents well from a distance, but there are many chips in the paint of the cabin. The bed is new, and the side panel and rear gate can be removed. The toolboxes, and tires are also new, as is the hitch. The bed is equipped with a 25,000 pound fifth wheel hitch.
All gauges work, and the interior is clean and dry. The heater works great! Lights, horn wipers, all is in working condition, this vehicle can go anywhere as is.
The diesel engine has been serviced not many miles ago, but the plans of the owner changed and the car was never put into service. After sitting for a long time, the engine started up at the second attempt. The diesel motor is pre EPA doesn't need any DEP. All vitals are good. The air brakes take less than a minute to get up to pressure. An alarm sounds as long as the pressure is not at operating the range, and at that point the air brakes are phenomenal. There is no play in the steering system and it runs great.
