Description
I'm selling my rat rod project truck. This runs & drives, but still needs some loving. I've got to move on to other projects, so it's got to go.
A lot of people say their vehicle is "rare", this one IS To our knowledge this is 1 of 1 an original Canadian Truck, with FACTORY power steering and power brakes. This may not sound important, but again, to our knowledge, power options for steering and brakes were not introduced until 1968. This is also a numbers matching, original V8 304 power plant with automatic column shifting. It's recently had a complete transmission rebuild done to it as well as some electrical work to get lights and signals working. There is still work to be done on it though. I'm selling the truck as is where is, with NO expressed warranty, or promises on the truck's driveability (although it has been driving today - at the time of this posting.)
Please read everything and ask questions before you bid.
The Good
- New Brake Pads all around
- New Brake Lines front & back
- New Wheel Cylinders all around
- New spring kit all around
- New bearings and seal in the front
- New tie rods & ball joints
- New rear shocks
- New spark plugs
- New spark plug wire set (performance)
- New manual fuel pump (works great)
- New fuel filter
- New front windshield glass (mint)
- All other glass is in near mint / excellent condition
- New vinyl sprayed dashboard and around instrument panel and glove box
- Brand New 3" white wall tires (ZERO WEAR) and rat rod gloss red rims Looks sharp!
The Bad
- Truck needs a carburetor tune up. It has a single barrel holey carb on it now.
- May need other mechanical tune ups, but that will be for you to decide. It runs!
- There's some visible cancer on the driver's side around the handle and the below the door on the rocker panel.
- Surface rust and little bits of deeper rust here and there under the body. Everything that's supposed to hold the truck up is all in tact!
- Gas tank has been removed and re-sprayed to fix a small leak, but it still leaks. It will likely need to be re-lined or replaced.
- Electrical still needs to be sorted through to some degree to fix issues with lights, etc.
- Some chrome is missing on the doors panels.
- Only have one OEM side mirror for driver's side.
- Interior bench seat is ripped on the driver's side, but is 100% original.
- Headliner and door panels are missing.
- Truck has been stripped and then primed, but there must have been a delay in painting, because there is some spots of top coat that have flaked off. There is no clear coat on the vehicle, it's just the matte finish, which definitely gives it that gas monkey rat rod look / feel to it.
The Unknown
- You tell me I'm likely missing stuff, but if it's important to you and you don't see the answer above, please ask me. I'll do my best to get you whatever pictures you want to see, or any information you may need to know to make your decision.
This is a NO RESERVE auction for an ultra rare International Harvester Pickup. You just don't see many of these around anymore that aren't in pieces at a salvage yard or rusting on the front lawn.
Get it while it's still around.
Over $9000.00 worth of parts and labor put into this truck.
