You simply don't find them like this very often! 1978 International Scout II
345 V8, 42,000 miles, 4wd, 727 automatic transmission, Dana 44's Ac, power steering and brakes.
All original, unmolested, rust free condition. This Scout has lived it's entire life in California It has NONE of the typical rust issues that plaque these vehicles. Never seen a day of snow or a salty road in its life. It's a very nicely preserved Scout with all of its original paint. As honest of a rig as you could ever hope to find. Original line siting ticket and both of its original 1978 Blue and yellow California license plates.
The body and paint: The body is super straight. Paint shines up nicely and looks great for being all original but does have a few minor, chips and imperfections. Remember, its all original! No rust, no shotty bodywork or bondo ever. It has a slight, hard earned patina after 37 years but you see exactly what you're getting. It has nothing to hide! They're only original once. The undercarriage, body mounts, rockers, under door, ect are super dry and rust free. No patching, no rust scaling, no undercoating crap, just nice and original.
She runs and drives very well! Doesn't smoke, doesn't leak. No funny knocks or lifter noises. These old International motors are bullet proof as long as you maintain them. It sat covered in a garage in hibernation for over a decade. I have since put a in a new carburetor, gas tank, changed all fluids and tuned her up, ect Drive it anywhere! It still has of of the Cali smog intact and I will provide smog for Cali buyer. I figured it has a good chance of going out of state where all you can find is rust buckets. Scouts like this don't come up very often and are rapidly increasing in value like the broncos and blazers. Here's your chance to own a really good one! Serious phone calls only please..
