Description
Jaguar. This a replica based on a 1953 Jaguar C-Type Le Mans winning car. Built by Classic Jaguar Replicas in England. Only 53 original C-types were produced from 1951 through 1953. In 1953 C-types finished 1st, 2nd, and 4th.
Titled as a 1963 Jag 2D with a clean Texas title. In Texas it can be registered as an antique or a classic car.
Engine: Jaguar 4.2 liter six cylinder, double overhead cams. Same basic engine as 1953 3.4 L, but from later XJ6
Carburetors: Triple Weber 45 DCOE
Exhaust: Stainless steel
Electronic ignition
Transmission: 5 speed manual
The frame is multi-tubular that closely matches original. More recent Jaguar independent suspension, front and rear. Coil over shocks all around.
Brakes: power, disc front and rear, vented front rotors.
Steering: rack and pinion
Body: fiberglass
Tires: Michelin period correct appearing radials 185/80 R16, marked 6.00 - 16 to replicate tires of the era. The four Michelin tires on the ground are in almost new condition, as is the spare, which is an Avon 185R16
This car is well constructed, with attention to detail. I call it a driver, because I drive it, I don't show it. I keep it clean, and of course garaged, but the fun for me is driving, not waxing.
The clutch and transmission operates smoothly.
An indoor car cover is included, as is a tonneau cover
The sale includes 20 books and manuals.
The car is located in Fort Davis, Texas. The photos are current and do a decent job of describing the car, but I welcome inspections, just contact me to arrange a time.
Delivery is the buyer's responsibility, but I will gladly assist as I can. I have an enclosed trailer, and will consider delivery at what I consider a reasonable cost and reasonable distance.
